"not for Toddlers"
This was a frustrating experience for my toddler. First of all, there is a whole area for toddlers. But everything is way too big! The counters, play cars and buses are a good size, if you are about 7 to 9 years old! The area is full of much older children, because everything is made for them. I have never seen a toddler big enough to enjoy thing area. They have several other areas that look enticing to young children. But when you enter them, you quickly realize that it only looks cool. There is nothing to do or interact with. That said, we would go back because we have a reciprocal membership and it's free. Plus, it's in a nice, small mall, with lots of fun stores, restaurants and a movie theater. And it's all on the Navy Pier, which is certainly worth a visit. If I had to pay an entrance fee though, for a toddler, I would skip it and drive out to the Dupage Children's Museum in Naperville. If you do go, however, there are many buses that drop you off right at the front door.

"Wonderful for toddlers!"
We just loved this children's museum! We have a reciprocal membership, so it was free. But we made the long drive from downtown Chicago just to go here twice in one week. (The Chicago Children's Museum is not nearly as good). This provided hours of fun and stimulation for our 2 year old. There are lots of interactive exhibits, which are very unique and allow children' to stay active. It seemed as if the older children were having just as much fun. It's a nice, open and pleasant space, with a huge picture window in the front where everyone can get a little sun in the winter, without freezing. The bonus was that we received a coupon at the front desk for three free burritos from Chipotle. And because our entry tickets were free with our reciprocal membership, it was if we were paid in burritos to go there and have fun!

"Fun, but expensive"
This is, I think, the best aquarium I have been to. However, I was there years ago, and I preferred the original exhibits. They used to have a straight forward dolphin show. Now, is is much more of a strange theatrical show, about an hour long with a long wait, and only a few minutes of dolphins at the end. But my toddler loved it, and loved the Polar Play Zone, which was really neat. There are also some nice areas to eat, one with a dolphin viewing area and one with an outdoor eating area that has a beautiful view of Chicago. We warned that parking costs $19.00 and entrance fees are very expensive, unless you just want to look at some fish in a tank. I think that's only $8 per person.

"Not for children!"
I simply can't understand that last review! We just went there and nowhere is it listed as a children's cafe. There is nothing for children there but a very limited kiddie menu. No toys, playground, pictures. Not even a crayon! The food was at best ok but the selection was extrememly limited. It was basically 14 different versions of a pita. And the pita bread was cold and chewy. Our very slim 8 year old complained about the serving sizes which were unbelievably small. We all left hungry. I cannot say enough how there was absolutely nothing for children to do. Almost every restaurant we have been to has more for children to look at, eat and do while there. Very confused how this even got on a family site.

"4 Stories Tall!"
This place is incredible! So much to do and see, and something for all young children to do. Even adults are impressed by this enormous museum! The playscape area was wonderful for my toddler. He especially loved the blocks and art area. My only complaint is that, as of our last visit, this children's museum was not reciprocal with our other children's museum membership, and thus, was costly.
