The Alamo
300 Alamo Plz,
San Antonio,
Texas 78205
Okay, who thought the Alamo would be bigger? I think it's beautiful but in a now very commercialized area. The gardens are gorgeous and the whole area well kept. History abound in this little place and is so worth the visit even if you just saw it from the outside. The archways are shorter than expected but the architecture is superb.

River Walk
E. Commerce St.,
San Antonio,
Texas 78205
"Romantic, not really for kids. "
I love the SA River Walk. I could do it for days on end. Most areas are pretty crowded so it's not a stroller friendly area especially with no rails by the water. The culture is fascinating and there are a ton of restaurants and shops to check out. We ate at Dolores Del Rio, a hole in the wall Italian restaurant, and the food was amazing, the atmosphere uniquely Italian, less than 12 tables at the place and live piano music/singing. They even went so far as to make our sangria table side. The river walk is a must for all visiting San Antonio.

USS Lexington Museum
2914 N. Shoreline Blvd,
Corpus Christi,
Texas 78403
My husband and I went here pre-kids and we plan on taking the kids once they get a little older. See everything from planes on the top decks, to the bunks, to the galley, to where the elevator is, to the barber shop, the dentist and the on-board work areas. Lots of walking and climbing but so much fun for kids to see and re-live days on this gigantic battleship.

Denver Art Museum
100 West 14th Avenue Parkway,
Denver,
Colorado
We have been here a few times and each time we see different things...not necessarily because things have changed but because we are overwhelmed every time we visit we can't take it all in at once. Fun to see the classics and more contemporary pieces of art and sculpture. The kids can sit and draw their own replicas of each piece of art as a project.

Hammond's Candies Factory Tour
5735 N Washington Street,
Denver,
Colorado 8216
A free tour can be had at Hammond's. Fun for the kids to see how a wide variety of candies is made and be able to sample some as well as purchase the finished products on site. Interesting to see just how it's all done, packaged and sent out the door. The kids will really like this and so will the adults...a must see for anyone looking for something unique.
