"Travel as Queen"
Every history buff loves a place like this. Fort, soldier barricks, museum, outdoor areas, cannons, and more. Children are invited to attend day camp in the summer, or hold their birthday party at the fort, or eat a meal during a re-enactment event. The Manager, Steve Smith is awesome with the kids. Look for Steve - he is probably in a kilt or soldier's uniform rather than the standard GA state park uniform. Steve can make the marshes come alive with Indians, and French or British soldiers. Worth getting off I-95 or planning a trip around one of the special events such as Murder at the Fort (Dinner Mystery Theatre).

"Sunset on the deck is the best."
Awesome view of the marsh. Closest accomodation to the Sapelo Island ferry. Wonderful breakfasts come from the Innkeepers' kitchen. Bill & Jan are great hosts and very accomodating. They have access to tour tickets for Sapelo, bicycles and kayaks. Great place to watch the birds circle the feeders or listen to the crickets sing in August.
