For years, the SMT has housed everything from plays, to art classes and the like. It is also a spot on the local ghost tour where you get to explore and take pictures and EVPs if you would like. They also offer shows, dance classes, drama classes and still put on plays. Great place to see if you are ever in the area.

My family has vacationed at Kure Beach for many many years and three generations. We always stop by the Aquarium and check out the aquatic life. They usually have new things/fish/exhibits whenever we go! The entire area is beautiful...so check out the aquarium if you should be in the area. They accept donations and use them for the upkeep and updating of the aquarium!

A few years back, this was not the greatest park. The playground equipment was outdated and falling apart, and the whole area needed some work. Then a few people came up with an idea to get kids off the streets, skating wise, especially after a kid was killed while skating down a dark road and was hit by a car. They created the skate park. It includes a half pipe, a bowl and several other structures for skaters. Also, a new addition is a full wooden playset donated by Grandview Produce. They are quickly turning this city run park into a great thing!

This place is wonderful. You get to see the animals interact and yes, like the site says, they can and WILL block your path :) Plus the kids can feed some of the animals with a feed bucket. Remember to check out the Bengal Tigers... it is AMAZING.
