"Good, not Great"
I think our expectations were too high, given how fancy the place looked on the website. As it turns out, only 4 rooms (and the lobby) have been renovated, with the rest of the rooms unchanged. That being said, the room was clean enough, although not as spacious as claimed on the website (I think that they include the outdoor balcony area in what they call "square footage of the room," which I feel is misleading). The resort is rather hilly, which is good if you have kid who likes to run. The golf course looked top notch (we saw it, didn't play it). The food options at the resort are expensive, so I would recommend going elsewhere (there are grocery stores and restaurants about 10-20 minutes away). The resort is fairly remote, which is good if you want a quiet getaway, but keep in mind that it will take you at least 30 minutes to drive to attractions like the Monterrey aquarium or Dennis the Menace playground.

"Nice Little Shopping Mall"
We enjoyed an evening at this outdoor shopping mall. Catch the sunset there over drinks or dinner. The highlight for the kids might be the open-air trolley that takes your to-and-from the mall. That alone made the trip worth it for us. Food is a little overpriced, but where isn't it on Maui?

"Good, Not Great"
This is an luxury hotel which seems better suited for adults (not kids). The pools are very nice (including the infant/toddler pool), but the beach is a bit of a hike to reach. The hotel is also on the "older" side, which may give it a stately/elegant feel but I much prefer newer, simpler hotels, especially with young children in tow. Restaurants on site are super-expensive, so beware. There is a nice playground next to the infant pool that our toddler really enjoyed. Overall, a nice hotel for adults and perhaps older kids, but not so much for the little ones.

"Very Nice Hotel"
We rented a two-bedroom, two-bath condo for a week and were very pleased. The rooms were large, clean and furnished nicely. The pools were family friendly, especially the shallow pool for infants/toddlers and the pirate ship pool for the older kids. It was also nice to be so close to the beach. The only downside is that food is very expensive, so be sure to stock up on groceries at the local market (only 5 minutes away).

"One of Our Favorite Activities in Hawaii"
I was skeptical at first when my wife signed us up for this activity, but it turned out that our son loved it. A boat takes you on a 20-minute ride to where you see the submarine pop out from under the water, which itself is a fun experience for the little ones. The submarine itself is well designed, with all seats facing a porthole. You don't get to see the variety of fish that you might see at the aquarium, but I suppose that you're paying mostly for the submarine experience (which takes you to a depth of 100 feet). Overall, a great experience for our toddler and the other kids on board. Only area of improvement would be to extend the time spent in the submarine. Seems like it was over too quickly.
