"Great place..."
We love this museum and even have a family membership. It is really big and has lots of exhibits for children of all ages. We really like the backyard water play they offer in the summer. They are always changing around the exhibits, so it remains interesting for the children. They offer various kinds of programs and classes as well.

"Small but good for toddlers..."
We wanted to check out this museum since we are members of the Children's Museum of Richmond. It is much smaller, but good for toddlers. The have a really neat live bee exhibit in the back. You can watch hundreds of bees make honey in the honeycomb.

"Great place..."
We always love going here. We went before we had children and really love going now with our children. It is so fun to pick your own fruit. They always have different kinds of activities going on for every season other than winter. It is fun to go in the fall for pumpkins and to pick apples. We like going in the late summer to pick our own peaches.

Nags Head Dolphin Watch
7517 S Virginia Dare Trail,
Nags Head,
North Carolina 27959-9162
"Really neat..."
We did this with our 18 month old son while on vacation. It was really neat! We got to see a huge pod of dolphins feeding on a school of fish as well as a mother with her calf. They migrate to the sounds in NC during the summer to give birth and it is safer for the calves then in the open ocean. We also saw osprey and pelicans get fish out of the the sound.

It is the only dolphin watch on the Outer Banks owned & operated by dolphin researchers with 16 years’ field experience. They conduct research for Duke University.

NC Aquarium at Roanoke Island | kids travel, kids activities
NC Aquarium at Roanoke Island
374 Airport Rd,
Manteo,
North Carolina 27954
"Great for toddlers!"
We visited this aquarium with our 18 month old while on vacation and it was great. It is smaller than most aquariums, so it was much easier to get around and see everything with a little one. They have touch-n-feel tanks with sea urchins, starfish and sting rays. Admission for children under 5 is FREE.
