Monkey Joes

"Great indoor playground"
New indoor playground with lots of inflatable play equipment and some video games. There are approximately 10-12 inflatables, 2 are designated for 3 yrs and under. Three party rooms, an two eating areas, snack bar that serves snanks and papa johns pizza. There is also a parent's area that has tv's, computers and wi-fi access. Some video games that give tickets to redeem for trinkets.
Pros-the times we have been, there has been a good ratio of staff to number of people there. The 3 and under area has been limited to this age range, big kids not allowed, the birthday parties we have been too have their own staff and well organized, clean restrooms and facilities, safety bracelets given to parents and children that match and staff does not allow a parent or child to leave without their match, parents and infants are free.
Cons-it is very very busy on the weekends or rainy days, can be a bit expensive if not staying long.

"Indoor playground, pizza place"
This is an indoor playground inside one of the area's most popular pizza chains. Upstairs there is a traditional Happy Joes resturant. Downstairs is a smaller resturant and an indoor play area. The play area has numerous areas for elementary age kids and under, arcade style games that give tickets to redeem for prizes and several party rooms. Several benches around the playground for parents, crawl space for younger kids and smaller area for preschoolers.
Many times in the summer they have a deal day for reduced admission and there are always coupons to be found for the resturant.

"Fun place to spend an afternoon"
Science museum and IMAX theatre. Musuem has the following permanent exhibits: Hall of mammals, Big River-Black Earth (history of animals of the area), Ocean Adventures (play submarine, octopus climber, fish tanks, sand castle blocks and etc.) tree house climber and puppet show, old fashioned house play area, gem/rock gallery, egyptian and mummies gallery and history of the area gallery. It also has a science lab, gift store and traveling exhibits throughout the year.
A fun place to spend and afternoon or morning. Check out their website as they have frequent special events going on, often for free.
There is a snack area by the IMAX that sells food for a meal. Also across the parking lot is a park with picnic tables and the small Fejavary zoo.

Discovery Depot Children's Museum
128 S Chambers St,
Galesburg,
Illinois 61401
This is a fun children's museum. There are definately many things to keep kids busy-pretend cafe, combine cab to "drive", trains and jump area. Nice for families with younger children as they have infant crawling sections. Great for infants through younger elementary ages, older kids might find it fun when playing with siblings but it is geared towards a younger crowd. Sometimes offers discounted days during the spring and/or summer months so that is worth checking out before a visit.

Peoria Glen Oak Zoo
2218 N. Prospect Rd,
Peoria,
Illinois 61603
This is a very nice small zoo. They have completely redone the african animals section-it is absolutely great. The rest of the zoo needs an update, but has a nice variety of animals, petting zoo and sea lion show. Lots of shaded areas and a small education center with pretend vet area, aquariums, books and other toys to give kids a break. The zoo is located in a large park so it is a great way to spend an afternoon.
