Oakland Zoo
9777 Golf Links Road,
Oakland,
California 94605
This zoo has lots of exibits and they always seem to be adding something new. Our only complaint is that some exibits dont have much space for spectators and the animals are usually in the corner farthest from that space making them tough or impossible to see. A previous reviewer mentioned bringing binoculars, that may be a good idea!
Also make sure you get a map when you go in or you will get lost and miss some of the exibits. This zoo is that big!

Sacramento Zoo
3930 West Lane Park Drive,
Sacramento,

"Great place to spend the day."
This zoo is very spacious and its easy to get around and see everything even when there is a large crowd. Unlike Oakland and SF Zoo's, parking here is free. You can buy a one year family pass for about $80.00 and use it to get in free for a year and half price admission to most other zoos (including SF and Oakland)

Yosemite Falls
Yosemite Valley,
Yosemite National Park,
California
"Easy hike once you get to the trail head."
There is very limited parking at the trail head. You will most likely have to park in a larger lot and take a free shuttle bus to the trail head. Once you get there, it is a paved trail all the way to the base of the falls. Easy walk and plenty of room for a stroller.
Please note that on this site, allot of Yosemite destinations show up as free, but you do have to pay to get into the park. At the time of this post, it is $20 per day per car or $40 for a one year pass.

Woodward Community Park
710 E Woodward Rd,
Manteca,
California
"Best community park in Manteca"
Parking is FREE.
A huge play structure with a 3 story slide (that even an adult would have fun in) next to a smaller play structure for the younger ones.
Just down the street there is a third all ages play structure.
There are restrooms here, but no snack bar and the nearest restaurant is a couple miles away, you will need to pack your lunch.

Dennis the Menace Playground
777 Pearl Street,
Monterey,
California 93940
Only reason we only give it 4 stars is because it is a sand park. Maybe one day they will replace the sand with cleaner, healthier bark or better yet recycled rubber.
After you are done at this park, a nice beach is only two blocks away (a great time to go, the kids will already have sand everywhere, you have nothing to lose.
There is also a Snack bar at the park and a McDonald's and the Wharf within walking distance.
