"Interesting bit of history"
It's wonderful to see all the old guns, ammunition, and other supplies from the Civil War and beyond. The museum is pretty kid friendly. There is an old caboose out front to see, and inside there is a play area for the kids. Of course they won't want to stop long enough to read the information but they will enjoy seeing the mannequins and model trains. The crowning glory is The General. The engine has it's own interesting bit of history to tell. Pack a picnic lunch and go to the park right across the street.

"Exactly how you would imagine."
The food was delicious. What else would you expect from Paula Dean? You can see the butter all over the buffet! An inside source told me that the same chef learned all of Paula's recipes and has been cooking at the restaurant for years and years. The mashed potatoes and butter cake is to die for. It is really good southern/comfort food. Make sure you check the website. The seating policy is pretty weird. I would not want to wait that long for a table with children so make sure you get the hostess your name early!

"How can the kid's not love a candy store?"
The best pralines I have ever had. They are so delicious and everyone in my family asks me to bring them home when we go to Charleston or Savannah. It is about $20 for a pound and a half or pralines but worth every penny. They also make salt water taffy, candy apples, and homemade gelato. I recommend the peanut butter flavor. You can smell the sugar and chocolate from the street when you get near. It is also a great place for finding lost favorites like bit o'honeys and ice cubes.

"Delicious food, but not for little ones."
If the adults need to get out this place is pretty good. I did see a couple of older children there but I don't think 7 or under would do well. It is a charming pink house and the inside is very quaint looking. Everything in there looks like an antique. The food is delicious and I recommend the daily specials and shecrab soup.

"A lot of fun and will wear the kids out."
Who thought that a bunch of trampolines and pieces of foam could be so fun? It really is a blast. There are bounce houses (the blow up kind) but that is nothing compared to the trampolines and big pit of Styrofoam pieces. We did a birthday party here and it was also a lot of fun. the kids are always tuckered out after a visit so make sure you plan for naptime afterwards.
