"Awesome Experience!"
Walking into The Coterie is almost as fun as the show! The entrance is a mosaic tiles and weird robotish type things. The kids love looking and touching these! The Coterie boasts being one of the top five theaters for young people in the US. The plays put on range from familiar titles to knew introductions. This is a great way to introduce or continue to form a young persons relationship with the theater. The Coterie is located inside Crown

"Outdoor Theater"
Starlight Theater plays host to musicals in the summer season. Prices vary based on where you wish to be seated. Your kids may enjoy using binoculars from the cheap seats :) In seasons past Starlight has shown musicals like Beauty and The Beast, and High School musical which peaked my children's interest. The seats are the same as you would find at a baseball stadium some bring a cushion if you like and it is outdoors so be sure to watch the weather. Starlight is also nestled in Swope Park so there is plenty of running around/picnicking space for before the show.

"Something for the 9 & up crowd"
I made the mistake of taking my toddlers here, and while i found the displays all very interesting they did not. When we went in they showed us a very short film and answered questions about the history of the western trails. There were lots of displays showing things used and even a little hands on area set up like a general store. I noticed that other families with older kids seemed to be really enjoying themselves. My kids did enjoy the hands on portion, but not the guided tour. So perhaps if you are taking younger kids you should forgo the tour.

"Camping with a Historical Spin!"
We love camping at Watkins Mill. There is a lake with a little beach, the bathrooms are clean and well kept, and there are trails for hiking and biking. The historical spin is the 1870's wool mill and house that are still on the property. You can take a guided tour and learn about the textile industry from the turn of the century. It adds a great history lesson to a family camping trip!

"Best Splash Park"
We really enjoyed this splash park. The splash area its self has a number of different water sprayers and buckets dumping water. Around that area there are bathrooms and Picnicking area. There is a big play area with swings, slides, and other climbing toys. There is also a huge grassy area for ball play. I felt like there were a lot of benches for sitting around and watching the kids and close parking.
