San Antonio - Rainforest Cafe

"Fun for kids"
One of my friends had dined there with his kids and was very impressed with it. I was excited about going to the Rainforest Cafe since I couldn't wait to see the wonder in my daughters eyes when she saw the atmosphere. And I was not disappointed! She loved every single minute of it. Needless to say, she didn't eat anything and I ended up devouring hers. The food was not bad, nothing above average about it. And the price a bit above the top. We definitely can't afford to go there every month.

Hoover Dam Recreation Park

"Hoover in Ohio?"
Hoover dam in Ohio? This was the first thing that came to my mind while we were searching for a place to spend our last day in Ohio. We were visiting friends. After parking the car, when I saw the stairs to the dam, I said I will stay here while you all go up and enjoy. I am afraid of heights and just looking at them gave me palpitations. But the others wouldn't let me be and once I started the climb, it wasn't bad. And when I got to the top, I was glad. The view is beautiful. The lake created by the reservoir goes for miles with lots of boats bobbing up and down and activities galore for families and loners alike. You can walk, hike, run, ride a bike or just play in the water. Lots of paths to get to the lake. The kids 2 and 3 year olds enjoyed seeing the ducks frolicking in the water, the boats etc.The main concern I have about the dam is the small openings near the rails. A kid can fall through the opening. I know the openings are there for a reason, but you have to be extra careful if you have a very curious child as mine.

Buckingham Orchards
8803 Cheshire Road,
Sunbury,
Ohio
"Wonderful "
When I saw the big barn at first, I thought -Oh no, we are at the wrong place. But sign read Buckingham Orchards. So we went in. There was an old man behind the counter, who was not well. Even then he explained to us the history of the orchards and the hundred plus varieties of apples. He handed us an apple basket and told us to enjoy. There were lots of varieties of apples - golden, green, red. We were a party of 5 adults and 2 kids aged 2 and 3. We all had a great time tasting and picking the apples. The kids after their first excitement on seeing the apples on trees, went back to their favorite past time- running between the trees and dropping the apples handed over to them by the adults in the basket. We even found a pear tree. We all had a great time.

"Love it"
Sea world is a combination of a small zoo, amusement and water park. There was quite a crowd on the day we went, which is to be expected and the food was a bit of an overkill, but that is to be expected too. We enjoyed all exhibits, my 2 year old daughter especially. We had to offer her a number of bribes to get out of the place. Best liked: Shamu, Sea lion show, Dolphins to name a few. I am not a big fan of rides. I wanted to try one. But when I heard people screaming, I was like -Oh no!. Even without the rides, we had more than enough to do in one day.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
6000 North Terminal Parkway ,
Atlanta,
Georgia 30320
"Friendly airport"
This airport was my port of entry in US. I was apprehensive about the paper work and all because I am here on a temporary visa with a baby in tow. I had heard horror stories of people getting held up in the airports. But every single airport official I met was very friendly and helpful. All the lady staff oohed and aahed at my baby and instead of crying like she always does, she gave each of them a big grin and enjoyed every minute of it. The directions at the airport is not confusing at all. I made it to the checkout area without having to ask anyone for help. In other international airports both in US and abroad, I have found that signs can be misleading, but not in Atlanta airport. We have made several trips both domestic and international in the past few years. And I have to say this, I never had any reason to complain. Now that my daughter is no longer a baby, she enjoys going to the airport to pick up our friends and relatives. She loves seeing the airplanes taking off and coming down.
