Arlington National Cemetery
214 McNair Rd,
Arlington,
Virginia 22211
Arlington Cemetery is a place filled with historical significance. It is not a place for small children, who may be too young to appreciate the seriousness of it. The Eternal Flame is visible from the entrance. Families are allowed to walk among the tombstones to observe and show respect, and can give donations if they so choose. It is a good place to take older children and adults.

Zion National Park (overall)
Zion National Park,
Springdale,
Utah
Zion offers gorgeous views and plenty of things to see. A quick trip to the lodge will provide you with a map and an explanation of all the different hiking trails. Each one has a different theme, designed to give you a different experience of Zion. Try two or three to get the full experience, because Zion is a vast park with a lot of different and beautiful geological features. There are dozens of places to camp, and plenty of picture perfect opportunities.

Meteor Crater
Exit 233, Interstate 40,
Winslow,
Arizona 86047
Winslow, Arizona is in the middle of nowhere. The drive is out of the way, and once you get there, you're required to pay a fee in order to pass through the security checkpoint to get inside. Don't get me wrong, I'm very appreciative of the significance of Meteor Crater in the scientific community. But kids will get bored with it quickly.

"Fun If Your Kids Like To Hike"
The Grand Canyon is a gorgeous landmark, and there are fun things to do any time of the day. If you're going in the summer, make sure to go early in the morning to avoid crowded parking and warm temperatures. Hiking is definitely a must, so plan in advance. There aren't a lot of interactive activities for children outside of the hiking scene, so keep that in mind when planning a day trip.
