"good source of information"
Not much going on, a little bit of taxidermy, a few crafts, great views. It is a great place to start a few hikes and on certain days there are some neat events. We were there once around Halloween and kids could bob for apples, eat some treats, touch a few snakes (boa), learn about the local Native Americans, flora and fauna, and much more. This is a must stop to buy your forest adventure pass and get directions to local hikes.

"Fun place to walk, but a bit commercial"
San Diego is one of my favorite cities. Our family visits often and it's little neighborhoods. This is a small village right on the water with little shops and restaurants. The place is a bit commercial and it can be crowded. One part I do love it is the carousel. It is an old restored one which, seriously, is the fasted merry-go-round I have ever been on. I am not kidding, this thing spins fast! The kids loved it, though.

"Harbor views, sharks, boats and more!"
We love this place. It is very mellow and easy going. My 6 year old especially enjoys spending time at the institute. She jumped right on in to dissect a squid and she was able to follow the instruction no problem! How cool is that! I highly recommend going out to sea on the RV Sea Explorer. At the end of the excursions kids are invited to have a seat while they dig up mud from the sea floor and then the kids get to sort the sea life into petri dishes. If your kids love science they will love this science ride out to sea.

"Orange County Nature"
About 10 miles from civilization is Casper's. Drive here are you will feel like you are not in the OC anymore. The playground is big and includes big and little kids play structures, swings, a tire swing, and a see-saw. This park is huge and offers camping, too. Last time we saw deer and a hawk. You can go here and be alone. My kids love the nature center and the viewing deck on top with the FREE telescope to view the scenery.

"Clean, good breakfast, quiet"
We stayed here last weekend and had an adjoined room with my sister an niece. The girls liked to move between both rooms. The included continental breakfast is great with the kids and their coffee is good. The pool has been recently remodeled and we spent well over an hour in their. The location is the best part, though. We were able to walk to the pier, boardwalk, lagoon, and dinner.
