Definitely an activity better suited for little boys. My husband, brother-in-law and stepson loved it. I was a little bored after an hour or so. It was interesting to go on the tour to the engine room and hear the history but I got a little worn out wandering around looking at the different displays. There is a lot to see and a lot of walking is involved, so be prepared.

"Golden Gate Fortune Cookies"
It felt like we found a secret spot in San Francisco. It is definitely a hidden gem in a back alley but your nose can find it for you! Where else do you get a chance to sample a fortune cookie still warm, fresh from the oven! They have various flavors available - we picked up chocolate and vanilla swirled to bring home! Definitely worth a stop!

Musée Mécanique

My family easily spent three hours in this arcade. We had a blast looking at all the old arcade options and had a hard time deciding which machines were going to get our quarters. My stepson loved playing skee ball and my husband loved the the antique machines! You could spend hours here!

Boudin Bakery at Fisherman's Wharf

A great place to warm up! We had a great time looking at all the animal shaped sourdough loaves while we waited for our table. The clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl was delicious! If you don't have time to wait for lunch, definitely stop in and check out the factory and various loaves of bread - it's worth it, if for nothing but the smells!

Ferry Building Marketplace

"Ferry Building Marketplace"
The Farmer's Market was awesome - tons of produce options and a lot of organic products available! Inside the Ferry Building was a different story. It was so crowded, I spent more time trying to keep track of my stepson than enjoying the market itself. I don't know if it was when we went or not but I would recommend skipping the building. If you are brave enough to enter, definitely get a gelato - yummy!
