My husband and I stayed at the Lake Tahoe Embassy Suites and it was hands down the nicest Embassy Suites that we have ever stayed in! Beautiful lobby with very helpful staff. The rooms are very large with a living room & bedroom. There is a happy hour with snacks and drinks. In the morning there is a made to order breakfast with coffee & juice. There is also a beautiful restaurant inside. Harrahs is right next door and easy to walk to from the hotel.

Tilden park is a must for every family. This is at the top of the Berkley hills and is a true gem in the Bay Area. There is a old style carousel, large picnic area with tables, petting zoo,train, park, museum and hiking area! There is also plenty of parking and you can bring food into the park. There is a small snack bar (may not be open all the time though). Great place to go to be outdoors.

We took our kids to the Oakland zoo last summer and boy did we have fun! I went as a child and they have done several upgrades. There are more rides and more places to eat lunch. There is a large area with a food court as well. There is most of the typical animals that you would see in a zoo plus a small area that is sectioned off that allows you to purchase small cups of food to feed the goats! Great Zoo that is not to big and has a lot of extras that the typical zoo doesn't have!
