Hiking the Y
900 East to 820 North to Oakmont Lane to Oakcliff Drive,
to Terrace Drive to Y trailhead access,
Provo,
Utah
"Not for the faint in heart"
Hiking the Y is a great hike, but it is definitely not a family stroll. The path is nice and wide, but it gets very steep. It's not like going rock climbing or anything, but you wouldn't want to pack a child on your back either. It is fascinating to see how they make the Y show up so easily from all over the valley. And it's great exercise. Take a picnic and enjoy the view while you're there.

The Shops at Riverwoods
4801 N University Ave,
Provo,

"Keep your wallet in the car"
This is the cutest little place ever to shop. Not only do they have the best shops like Abercrombie, GAP, Bath and Body, Victoria Secrets, Borders and more, but they also have some very yummy restaurants. It's nestled not far from the mouth of Provo Canyon and there is a great movie theater just to the west of it. It's a fun place to stroll around and do some shopping, but leave your wallet in the car because there are a lot of fun shops that are very tempting.

Bridal Veil Falls | kids travel, kids activities
Bridal Veil Falls
Provo Canyon,
Hwy 189,
Provo,
Utah
"Great place to stroll and picnic."
This is fun. It's in the provo canyon, so you can take your family and hike, bike or roller blade along the path that goes along the mountain and provo river. there are several places to stop and picnic with picnic tables and even a few parks along the way. Bridal Veil Falls itself has several hikes around it, you can hike up to the falls itself and get a little wet. I highly recommend going in the fall. The canyon is absolutely gorgeous with the leaves changing from green to bright red, orange and yellow. Bring your camera.

Cabelas | kids travel, kids activities
Cabelas
2502 W Grand Terrace Pkwy,
Lehi,

"Fun to be had."
This is an outdoor sporting goods store and more. My husband loves guns and knives and all things manly, so he's in heaven to go in here and browse. Normally it would be a disaster to take the kids, but Cabelas has put up displays of stuffed animals throughout the store, they have a great cafe that is reasonably priced, and a cute shooting range for kids to pretend to shoot anything from a bear, to a can. They also have a huge fish tank with fish you would find in the local area. It keeps our kids ranging in age from 9 - baby entertained for over an hour.

Lakeview Park
16th Ave and Garrity Blvd,
Nampa,
Idaho
"Big Park"
This park is big as far as how much land, but it's not anything special. There are some playgrounds, it has a splash pool that my kids love, but it's mostly for younger kids, if you have older kids they would get bored easily there. At one end there are some ducks you can feed but other than that it isn't anything worth going out of your way for.
