Its almost always too hot for the animals to be active, the will mostly be hidden in the shade too far to see them, or sleeping. An it closes early, like 5pm so by the time the animals are up and about the zoo is closed. But if you get there early enough or its a cool day this park is lots of fun. All in all, its small enought that you could walk it in a few hours, and it has lots of animals so we love it to just get out of the house and walk.
