"Playing with Fishies"
This is a MUST do for families visiting Oahu! This is such a great and relaxing beach located in an alcove. It's a perfect place for kids to snorkel since there are many shallow areas. There are many trees to situate yourselves in case you prefer shade. For the more avid snorkeler, you can venture out deeper. Please don't step on the corral - I noticed some people doing that despite the fact there was a presentation before entering the beach, specifically stating that stepping on the corral can damage them.

"Educational Fun"
One of the most fun and educational experience you share with your children for FREE!!! But please donate when you get there - it's such a valuable resource.
My 4 year old and 10 year old LOVE it there!
• They host Great exhibitions
• There is an IMAX theatre in the same building
• It is adjacent to other FREE and fabulous museums
• There is a magnificent rose garden behind the center
• There are places to eat in center.
... so basically spend a whole entire fun day there!
The ONLY downside is that holidays get super crowded since it's free, however, my children didn't care about that at all!

"Creative Fun"
WE LOVE THIS PLACE! If you enjoy art with your family, then you will LOVE visiting the Sawdust Festival! There's a huge variety of art and craft on display and for sale here. My kids are 10 and 4, and they have many free activities for kids. They especially enjoyed the experience of creating their pottery for FREE! If you want it painted and glazed, then it's an additional fee. They do it for you and ship it out. They have many amazing demonstrations throughout the day. My 10-year old was especially fascinated with the glass blowing demonstration.

I have to add, that I especially loved the work of Laurel Meister (http://whimsicle.net/default.asp) Just helping out another super-talented working mom! She makes super art, especially for children's walls!

Another great thing - for me at least...There are sooooo many shady eucalyptus trees, that you are not burning in the hot sun like your typical festival. They have numerous places to eat and enjoy music, so once you're in, you can relax and enjoy appreciating or buying art! I

"Birthday Fun"
We took my daughter for her 4-year birthday, and she loved it!!! I think it's a bit pricey, but for special occasions like this - it's totally worth it. The Disney characters and princesses come around frequently. They gave special attention to the birthday girl. The buffet included a great delicious and creative variety! They also have entertainment with the characters- I think every half hour or so. A GREAT EXPERIENCE for children!

"Travel to Tokyo"
If you love to learn about other cultures with your family, then you will love this place! Travel to this representation of Japan and taste authentic Japanese cuisine and explore the art at the museum. I am not Japanese, but I enjoy and am used to Japanese cuisine. For dessert, try the fresh Mochi filled with sweet beans or Mochi Ice Cream! Yum!
