"Perfect for first time skaters"
We were visiting NH during Christmas and needed something to do with the kids. Ice skating seemed obvious, but it was 14 degrees out so skating on a pond was out. I'm so glad, because we discovered this place and it was perfect. My kids don't skate, but desperately want to. This place has walkers the children can push in front of them as they skate around. My 4.5 year old had a blast and didn't fall once thanks to her walker. It really gave her the confidence she needed. The price was great for free skate, skate rentals and the walkers. Check the website for free skate time.

Best Western Concord Inn & Suites
97 Hall Street,,
Concord, New Hampshire
"Adequate"
We stayed here over the Christmas holiday - me, my husband, my 4.5 year old and 3 year old. We had a suite which had 2 queen beds in one room, and a pull out sofa in the other room. The biggest plus of this room was that it was an honest to God door between the rooms, not some sort of semi-door that offers no privacy at all. The "living room" also had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The suite was clean and very large, but nothing fancy. The towels were rough as sand paper, as was the tissue and toilet paper (bummer during cold season). Though my BIGGEST complaint was the heating system. There was no thermostat; there was no central heating. Your room depended upon a wall unit that was loud and gave you the option of off, hot, or sweltering. It was miserable. This would not be a problem in any other season, but we were there for a week in December. Also, one day the maid simply didn't service our room. On the plus side - complimentary breakfast (you could make your own waffles) and an indoor pool. Bottom line, I will try not to stay here again, but if given no other options I will manage this again.

"Another Family Friendly Marriot"
We stayed here over Thanksgiving weekend this year and it was very relaxing. We had the Thanksgiving buffet at their restaurant (Cava) and it was delicious! I mean seriously delicious!

My children loved the pool area - it's large, there is a seperate kid wading pool, or the kids can use the beach entrance. Yes, beach. They have a man made beach just for the little ones. They also loved the Nickolodeon activities they hotel put on (evening movies, noontime "game show", crafts and a meet the character breakfast. My kids are 4 and 3, but the Nick stuff (except the character breakfast) was really geared to 7-9 year olds. They got slimed at the gameshow!

My only gripe was that the pool was not heated enough. We barely used it because it was too cold for me and my husband.

Oh, and one more thing I would recommend. Sit out by the firepits at night and order the chocolate fondu dessert. That was super fun for the kids.

And as usual for Marriot hotels, the rooms were big, clean and well appointed. Make sure you use your AAA card and get that rate.

"Best Pony Ride ever"
This is the best pony ride set-up I've ever seen. There are 4 possiblilites depending on your age, weight and level of braveness. There are really slow ponies that go around a small ring (typical pony ride), then there is a track that has slow, medium and fast ponies. So your 1 year old has an option, but so does your 10 year old. That was awesome. And this was pretty cheap - $3 a ride. Then there is a little train that takes you on an 8 minute trip around by the ponies. That was $2.50 a person.

We went on a Sunday, just for something new to try. It fit the bill. We drove all the way from the South Bay - if we lived closer to this attraction we might think it was out of this world and rate it higher.
