Big Bend National Park
Terlingua,
Texas
"Interesting landscape"
Want to see the texas desert at it's best then this is your place. They don't have much to offer but there is a motel and campground. They have a restaraunt and bar and you can buy a can of beer and give it to a beer drinking goat. It's quite a site to see ......

There is tons of hiking, fishing and great adventures to be had. It can get very hot in the summer so pack cool clothes and tons of sunscreen.

Fort Concho National Historic Landmark
San Angelo,
Texas
"old history"
This place is neat to walk through. You can see the old fort at it's best. Rooms are decorated as if it was still the 1800's. Manytimes throughout the year they will have reinactments on the grounds of a fight at the fort. Characters will be dressed in old war uniforms from both sides, women and children will be running around in old dresses and attire.

They will have arts and crafts, food etc. also all throughout the fort. You can learn alot about the history of the fort and what took place while at the same time enjoying shopping, food and entertainment.

Fun Valley Family Resort
Southfork Hwy,
South Fork,
Colorado
"Family Vacation Fun"
I have gone to this resort/campground for 17 years now. I went as a child and now take my children. This is a texan owned facility in Colorado. Over 500 RV campsites, cabins to rent, trailers to rent, a small motel. The resort is secured. You cannot enter the gates without a sticker on your windshield which can only be obtained at the office after paying and registering.

You can let your kids run free and know they are safe. This is such a family oriented place. Horseback riding, tubing down the river, paddleboats, arcade, miniature golf, horseshoes, gift shop, cafe, snack shack , street dances, much much more.

Space Center Houston | kids travel, kids activities
Space Center Houston
1601 NASA Pkwy,
Houston,
Texas 77058
"Hours of fun"
I could spend days upon days in this place. It's a child's dream to be an astronaut and going to the space center gives not only your children but the kid in you a chance to get a taste of what astraunauts do ....

They have a simulator you sit in, tours of the launch sites, control rooms etc. Fun games, entertainment, snacks etc. I highly recommend this not only for educational purposes but for a fun all day outing. Talk about a great time had for all involved!

Permian Basin Petroleum Museum
Midland,
Texas
"Educational"
We took the family to the museum and learned so many intersting facts. Living in the oil field like we do it was fun to be able to teach the children about why things are the way they are in west texas. Highly recommend for a fun outing.

It's easy to find just off Interstate 20 and Midkiff exit area. During the holiday season they will have the old antique oil rig lit up with lights and the museum is quite a site to see at night.....highly recommend this place.
