About Me & My Family

I am a stay at home mom with two boys. My husband works a lot and strange hours so I am by myself most of the time. We don't do a lot of traveling yet since I am by myself but I love to go new places. We currently live in California but are on the hunt for a new home town out of state.
Our Family's Travel Personality
adventurous, curious, rowdy, energetic, scheduled
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
We don't really have one since we don't travel that much yet.
A Place We'd Love To Visit
Idaho
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
camping in June. It was only me and my mom with the two kids. It was windy and we forgot half the stuff we needed. Let's just say I won't be camping again until the kids a much older!

"love the park, not so much the zoo"
The zoo is tiny and my son can walk around it in five minutes. There is one tiger and the main attraction of goats that they can feed. He would rather go to the park. It tends to be cooler here because of the lake. The structure is fun and then you can always feed the ducks, geese, and swans at the lake. In summertime, the kiddie pool is open from 11-4. The water is freezing but they love it. Best part is that it is caged in with a lifeguard so if your little one is big enough to be on their own, you can sit in the grass and rest while they play! There is also a path around the lake people walk on for exercise. I think it is a mile or more long.

"Big zoo"
This is a beautful zoo with lots of animals. It is very shady which is nice but it has big hills. They have animals you don't see in most zoos like the panda and koala. I have to say the food prices were outrageous and the food wasn't even very good. It would be nice to live close enough to have a season pass and then you could come and go as the children allowed for it.

"Hot hot hot"
We really enjoyed our visit to sea world but I have to say there wasn't a lot of shade. Our son really enjoyed the Elmo jungle gym land. I had the opportunity to swim with the dolphins. That was fun but there wasn't as much interaction as I had hoped. He did enjoy shamu and like being splashed from the big water ride. You could stand right next to it as the carts came down the big hill and get splashed.

"Pool"
I reallly enjoyed this pool. I took my 3 year old and 11 month old. There is a kiddie pool separated from the big pool with a gate. The little pool has a few things that spray water. The kids really enjoyed this. The large pool actually has a large waterslide. I thought this pool was very nice and much cleaner than the templeton pool. There was a lot more space to lay around as well. It is more expensive though- $3 per swimmer over 1 year vs. $4 for people over 17 at the templeton pool.

"Cow barn"
We visited the cow barn one spring with our parent participation class. You can see all the cows outside and you can see how they are milked. If you go between 3-6 am or 3-6 pm you can see the cows on the milk machines. I was told that if there were calfs you could feed them a bottle (although I heard it is very difficult and probably not for the younger ones- maybe school age). Nearby is also the horse stable where you can feed them carrots. I don't remember the name but across the street from the horses is like a botanical garden. It is really pretty and a great place to rest and have a picnic.
