The Exploratorium
Palace of Fine Arts,
3601 Lyon Street,
San Francisco,
California 94123
My husband, 2.5 year-old and I made a trip to the Exploratorium a few months ago and were pleasantly surprised! We thought there wouldn't be much for our toddler to do, but she absolutely loved it! We had to pull her out kicking and screaming when it was time to go. The museum had a great variety of hands-on exhibits, and from what I understand, they are always changing them. Make sure to bring a picnic and enjoy lunch on the grass outside the Palace of Fine Arts too. This was well worth the price of admission!

Angel Island State Park
Angel Island State Park,
Tiburon,

We biked Angel Island on Labor Day, and it was surprisingly wonderful! You take a ferry to the island and can rent bikes close to the dock. I was a little concerned going into the ride as I hadn't been on a bike in 4 years, but it was a fairly easy ride! The views were beautiful, and the history of the island was fascinating. Definitely a must-see.

Oakland Zoo
9777 Golf Links Road,
Oakland,
California 94605
We absolutely love this zoo! It is the perfect size, especially for younger children (though we adults love it too!). It has all the normal animals you would expect plus a great children's zoo. The children's zoo area has great play areas, accessible exhibits, and a fun petting zoo. You can get a membership for $45 through some of the daily deal sites, and at that price, snatch it up. It's a little pricey for a 1-day visit. Don't miss Boo at the Zoo around Halloween.
