Lake Atascadero Park and Charles Paddock Zoo

"A Day Full Of Fun"
You can spend an entire day (or at least half a day!) at this park. The zoo is very small but fun for the kids. You can probably walk through the entire zoo in 20 minutes if you wanted to get through quickly. The park play area is large and provides some shade. There are BBQ's if you want to have a family BBQ day. There are walking paths and a lake where you can feed the ducks and fish.

"Top Notch Museum"
Although it is pricey, this is a very nice museum. There are interactive activities for the kids and the museum is clean, beautiful and has an extensive array of wildlife. We were members before having our son and enjoyed going there in the mornings to check out the animals a little at a time. It is so large that it is almost too much to see in one day.

"Love the Walk"
Personally I think this is a better walk to go on without the kids because it is such a romantic stroll along the beach, but the kids do enjoy the wildlife and the beach as well. We usually find a place to get some tea to-go and a muffin and walk along the boardwalk for as long as our little one will let us go. There are public restrooms at the far north of the walk.

Templeton City Park
6th St.,
Templeton,
California
"Weekly Activity"
We love this park and go there weekly. My son likes the play structure but more than that he loves running in the grass chasing the birds. The city has a free pool area in the summer, a farmer's market on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evening concerts in the park in the summer. There are lots of kids and best of all - Trader Joe's is nearby!

"We like it"
We really like this park; I have a 2-year-old and there are lots of fun slides and activities for him. There is a dragon and a mote, good shade, and two playground areas. The park is not fun in the late afternoon during the week, however, when the kids get off school. Better as a morning or weekend excursion.
