Nashville Zoo at Grassmere
3777 Nolensville Pike,
Nashville,
Tennessee
My kids (5y, 3y, 5 mo) love going to this zoo. They can practically walk the entire course (although I would recommend bringing a stroller). The huge wooden playscape is fabulous, and my kids could spend hours on that alone. They also love the petting zoo, where they can brush the goats. The donkeys are loud and always make the kids laugh. The animals are pretty impressive too. We've had giraffes walk right up to the fence. Both of my daughters enjoy the critter area where there are numerous spiders, snakes, and fish for easy viewing. The carousel is beautiful, fun, and always a special treat! This zoo has also done an incredible reaching out to the local military community, with free events for us as well!

Clarksville RiverFest
640 N Riverside Drive ,
McGregor Park,
Clarksville,
Tennessee 37040
The advertising for the Riverfest is great, and my family and I usually end up going. But, usually, by the end of the night I ask myself why we did that again. It's always been hot & crowded. It's great to see the city come together and make a pretty big festival. My kids (5 and 3) did like the free petting zoo, and of course, the view along the river is beautiful. However, it's CROWDED! It's very tough to maneuver strollers through the crowds and lines are pretty long for food and activities. Do it once, just to say you went, but that will probably be enough :)

Beachaven Winery
1100 Dunlop Lane,
Clarksville,
Tennessee 37040
Beachaven Winery hosts Jazz on the Lawn every other Saturday in the summer, and it's a blast for the family! Bring a blanket and a picnic and chill out with friends. Very casual, fun atmosphere. These nights get crowded, but who can pass up free, live music! There's wine and cheese and other food for purchase, but otherwise a fun, free event for the family!

Cedar Point Amusement Park
One Cedar Point Drive,
Sandusky,
Ohio 44870
Some of my favorite childhood memories were made at Cedar Point. From the endless kids' rides, meet and greet characters to the evening laser light show, there's plenty to do! Since the price is steep, we prefer to do the half day deal and explore in the evening. I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old who feel brave and proud that they can go on rides without mom and dad! Also, the ambiance of the Lake Erie view is an added perk!

Frist Center for the Visual Arts
919 Broadway,
Nashville,
Tennessee 37203
Wonderful place for young kids! My young daughter had to make several trips to Vanderbilt Med Ctr is Nashville, and as a treat we went to the Frist Center after. My girls (5 years and 3 years) loved this place! Not only could they look at the exhibits, they were able to be creative on the children's floor. The printing press was a favorite activity, and I can't say enough positive words about the patient, helpful workers. Fabulous place!
