We are a bit unusual in that my DH is an opera singer and we travel with him to all his performances. This means that we are on the road more than we are home and "home" becomes a relative term. We are scheduled for the next few years to travel abroad and nationally, currently we are living in Berlin, Germany and spending about half a year in the States. My main goal is to make each new town feel like home while being the "stage manager" of our family. It's a great life but it does take some getting used to and some explaining when we meet new families/friends.

I need to take the kids to China, and to St. Petersburg, Russia.

Vacation for us is always a "staycation" in Houston. But we have had some wonderful trips for my husband's work. While in Santa Monica we went to Disney and my 3 year old Daughter insisted that we make sure that Cinderella's wicked step sisters wouldn't be allowed inside the gates. She was reassured by a kind gate keeper that rude people aren't allowed in Disney. For the following three weeks, I was asking at the Library, restaurants, and stores if the rude step sisters would be in that day, luckily we never saw them.

Traveling alone in with my then potty training 2 year old at O'Hare and not able to get to the family restroom in time. Meanwhile, our first flight of the day had been canceled and then the second plane had been rerouted and we finally arrived in Albany 5 hours late and on the very last clean pair of big girl pants and no socks.
