About Me & My Family
I'm an elementary school librarian in NYC and have taught K-12. I have taken many trips with my students and family so I know what it's like to travel with kids and what it's like to be a kid traveling! On my own vacation time I love road tripping throughout the country, especially in the South to get my fix for blues music and comfort food.

Ernest Hemingway House
907 Whitehead Street,
Key West,
Florida 33040
"Great museum for literary lovers and history buffs"
Hemingway was one of Key West's favorite locals- he was fondly known as "Papa" and would regale neighbors with grand stories of fishing and sailing adventures. Guided tours throughout the grounds capture the spirit of a brilliant and complex man while providing interesting facts about his life and times. Animal lovers will excite in the house's beloved family of cats- descended directly from Hemingway's favorite pet, most have a unique extra toe that gives their paws a "mitten" look.

"Great outdoor fun for active families"
A gorgeous section of preserved everglades that visitors can experience up-close. An education center shares info on the flora and fauna of the refuge. Then families can choose from a variety of fun outdoor activities to see the wildlife- hiking, fishing, boating, kayak/canoeing, bicycling, nature photography, bird watching. Website has a kids' page with print-out activities to gear up for the trip.
