Comerica BallPark | kids travel, kids activities
Comerica BallPark

"Home of the Detroit TIGERS!!!"
Who doesn't enjoy a good old fashion Baseball game? Go TIGERS!!! Comerica Park is anything but Old-Fashion...kids of any age will have a Blast here. Although my daughter's attention span isn't long for the actual game...she loves the carousel and the Musical water fountains!!! They also have a ferris wheel, which she is a little small for yet. And during the summer they usually have fireworks after the games on Friday night. Don't forget to look for Paws, the mascot!!!

"The DIA has Always been a Favorite Place of Mine"
My daughter is a little young for the Detroit Art Institute, but I have gone here many many times...and enjoied it much. I plan on taking her next year when she is 3...especially to Family Sundays where they have Music, Artist Demos, & Storytelling. The DIA has changing exhibitions and seasonal sevents on-going. It really is a beautiful museum filled with many collections of art. It is right across the street from the Detroit Public Library, which is quite impressive building and library worth checking out...especially for older childern and teens.

Detroit Science Center
5020 John R Street,
Detroit,
Michigan 48202
"Hands-On...Making Science Exciting!"
Detroit Science Center is definately a place to visit if you are trveling through Detroit with Kids...both Big and Small. My daughter, who is almost 2, enjoys kids town...where there are activites for the littler guys. Throughout the museum there are hands-on activities and interactive areas. They also have performaces going on where the kids have to participate... or you can check out the Imax theater or Planetarium, which is included in your admission price. Both shows are usually more suitable for kids a little older, as my daughter was scared.

Detroit Eastern Market
2934 Russell Street,
Detroit,
Michigan 48207
"Eastern Market lets your kids explore the Hustle & Bustle"
Eastern Market is especially fun for all kids. It is an open-air market that sells a little of everything from fresh fruit & veggies to cheeses, meats, flowers, arts & crafts. The market is open on Saturdays and has special events throughout the year. My daughter especially loves Flower Day in early to mid May. Not only are there annuals, prennials, baskets, & shrubs for Mom & Dad...there are childrens events like...face painting, flower pot painting, train rides, crafts, and there are even funny clowns. There is a wagon decorating contest that is fun for the family as well.

The Mall at Partridge Creek
17420 Hall Rd Clinton Township,
Clinton Township,
Michigan 48038
"Shopping for Mom & Dad and Fun for Kids"
This is the newest State of the Art Outside Mall around! They have a ton of stores, great resturants (California Pizza Kitchen is our FAV), and lots of fun stuff for kids...a fountain the little guys can run through...my daughter loves the play area with all these fruits to climb...Bocce Balls for the older kids...bring your dog (it can even go in the stores)...they have a huge outdoor fireplace to warm up in the winter...live music in the summer...ice cream...cupcake kitchen has free face painting & storytime on Wednesdays and kids cupcake decorating classes. If you don't find what you are looking for in the mall then you are seconds away from an array of resturants and stores along Hall Road. This really is a nice mall to bring the whole family
