"One of or Favorites"
We just returned from a weekend at Stinson. We make a day trip there a few times a year but this was our first overnight. Stinson is a long strip of sandy beach which is very rare for Marin. If using the state park as an entry parking is fairly easy and bathrooms and changing stations are available. The picnic tables make a great spot to eating or bbq away from the sand. The wave action is minimal and friendly for small children. The sand is soft and the weather is usually very good (for Marin). We have seen fair size rock crab playing in the surf and I saw a jelly fish this weekend. However, I've been coming here for years and it was a first. We also got to see some porpoises playing just behind the surf. There are tons of families and lots of children. Our daughter makes new friends every time we go. The water is usually chilly. We often take a spring wetsuit but it is not 100% necessary. I'm pretty warm blooded though. This is a great place to boogie board. You can rent them in town for about $10. The town is pretty small but friendly for tourists. Sand Dollar restaurant is top-notch. Stinson Beach makes a great launching point to all of Marin's great attractions.

"Iconic"
Having been to SF hundreds of time it's hard to not go. I am in no rush to go back. It takes a lot of time. It is interesting to see, not sure if the little ones will really get it. It is a little depressing think of what has happened there being a prison and all.

The history is interesting and the view is fantastic. The boat ride is a nice break. If you have the time (better part of the day) this is a decent choice.

"Something for everyone"
I've been here many times for many reasons over the years. A recent bike trip with the family has been my favorite day in the park. We explored the park all day on the bikes stopping wherever our interests took us. The ponds, the shows the teahouse. Easy terrain and endless new stuff to see. Ice cream, picnic, Haight & Ashbury, gardens & playgrounds. I hope you have as great a time as we did!

"One of the best..."
We go at least once a year. It is a great half day possibly full day depending on how into it the family gets. Cost is very reasonable and you can picnic out side in a beautiful park. Location is very central and easy in and out. Parking can be rough some days.

Hands on science exhibition. Kids learn and explore and they just think they are playing. I have a great time with the exhibits myself. Teens my get bored in a few hours. Great for the under 15 crowd and curios minds.

"Great SF addition"
We went for the first time last year. We will be back many, many times. The aquarium is absolutely fantastic. The planetarium show is like nothing I have seen before and is well worth the effort of getting ing. Reserve a spot early!!! The penguin show is very interesting. SF has done a fantastic job of making science and nature accessible and fun all in one roof. We appreciated the eco-friendly building and messaging. The location is central to many other attractions. Easy to get to.....parking, well is SF what do you expect? The cost is fair. Plam on spend a day or two. Fun for all ages.
