Ghirardelli Square | kids travel, kids activities
Ghirardelli Square
900 North Point Street,
San Francisco,
California 94109
"lots to do"
we loved going here when we were in san francisco. Ghirardelli square offers so much to do from tree lighting events, to chocolate festival, wine festival and fleet week. something for everyone. lots of food, family fun, shopping and more. you could easily spend hours here. If you have a Chocolate lover in the family like I do with my 2 year old son this is a great place to go.

Alcatraz | kids travel, kids activities
Alcatraz
Pier 33 (on Embarcadero and Bay St),
Hornblower Alcatraz Landing,

"very neat"
something you have to see if you go to San Francisco. while we were there we were able to meet a prisoner that served time at Alcatraz. you are able to tour the old prison, even walk through old cells and just experience the old, dark cells that the prisoners stayed in
Not a great place for little kids cause it can be a little scary and younger ones wont understand what they are seeing. But if you have older kids this is a great place for a little history of SF

Hearst San Simeon State Historic Monument (Hearst Castle) | kids travel, kids activities
Hearst San Simeon State Historic Monument (Hearst Castle)
750 Hearst Castle Road,
San Simeon,
California 93452
"so pretty"
My aunt and I took a trip to Hearst castle and the drive is beautiful to get there. if you go during the holiday they decorate which makes it more homely. The two pools are to die for a large outdoor and an indoor one. they also have a 40 min movie you can watch while you are there
This is something nice to do on the weekend with the whole family. But once again if you have younger children you might want to wait until they are older since the movie is kinda long and walking around can become boring for them

San Diego County Fair (formerly Del Mar Fair) | kids travel, kids activities
San Diego County Fair (formerly Del Mar Fair)
2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd,
Del Mar,
California 92014
"so much to do"
the fair is a great place to go in the summer. you can get a multi day pass to go as many times as you like. they have everything from concerts, rides, petting zoo, games, food, shopping and more. you have to get some fried items while you are there like fried twinkies, or coca cola
They also have a kiddie land which is full of rides, shows, and games geared toward younger kids. Each ride requires tickets but if you go on a day that you can buy a wrist band you can save a lot of money

PETCO Ballpark | kids travel, kids activities
PETCO Ballpark
100 Park Boulevard,
San Diego,
California 92101
"love it"
I love going to sporting events! and the new petco park is so nice. If you take kids they have a grassy area you can take them to run around and run of steam. also the padres offer a lot of family events such as family night where kids can run the bases
We like to go when they have a family day or special promotion for coming. They have kids night where the child will recieve a free gift (like a baseball glove)
