Wildlife and Ecology Center - Holtsville Park

Holtsville,

"Good for young children"
This is a great activity if your children love animals, and you want to kill a few hours without spending any money. Like a mini-zoo that rehabilitates old and wounded animals, the Ecology Park has a ton of different species. We couldn't believe how close we could get to those huge bears and cows!

"Fun for kids"
We spent an afternoon at the aquarium, and we had a blast. The kids loved seeing (and touching!) all the sea life. We especially liked that they were getting some educational benefit. Worth the drive out east. Close to Tanger Outlets and Splish Splash.

"Like nothing I've ever seen"
This place is absolutely stunning. Our family was awed by the natural beauty and splendor of the place. We made the drive while on a trip to Phoenix, and I am so glad we did. The hiking is a little rough, so I would skip it with little children. Bring your binoculars and your camera, you won't regret it!

"Amazing"
You cannot go all the way to Oahu and skip Diamond Head. It's a long hike to the top, but it's gorgeous. You are so close to nature. Wear comfortable shoes and carry a bottle of water. You'll get a great workout, and see some amazing scenery along the way.

Falls Lake State Recreation Area | kids travel, kids activities
Falls Lake State Recreation Area
13304 Creedmoor Road,
Wake Forest,
North Carolina 27587
"Love it"
We are regular boaters at Falls Lake. It is huge, so there are always family friendly spots where you can tie up and swim. Lots of fun to be had tubing, skiing, wakeboarding. The boat ramps are crowded on weekend afternoons and at dinnertime, so it's best to go early and leave late.
