Stone Mountain Park
1000 Robert E. Lee Drive,
Stone Mountain,
Georgia
"My kids were too little..."
We visited there when my kids were 3 year old and 1 ½ year old in summer. They particularly enjoyed riding the train, and we rode it twice. However, they were too little to enjoy the jungle gym called "Sky Hike" there or other attractions. We went into "The Great Barn" thinking they would enjoy, but they were scared because of loud noises. My kids were too little at that time, so we have to go back there when they get a little older.

USS Alabama
2703 Battleship Parkway,
Mobile,
Alabama 36602
We visited there for a special banquet hosted by an organization several years ago. We enjoyed looking around to know the histories. At the end of the night, they had a wonderful firework show that we assumed it’s because of the special occasion. It was amazing to see those fireworks from the top of the ship. If I had my small kids with us, I had to watch out them not to fall down from it because it was pretty high up. My kids would enjoy visiting there, but we would better wait for them to be at least elementary school age so they would know what this place really means.

Mule Day
Maury County Park,
1018 Maury County Park Drive,
Columbia,
Tennessee 38402
We've visited a couple of times to see mules since we didn't know what they were. My kids loved to see the parade, but it's TOTALLY a country thing. After watching the parade, we went to see Mule's day flea market and more mules closely. If you have a weekend nothing to do, it's fun to go and see. Just expect country music and people all around :)

Dauphin Island Sea Lab Estuarium
101 Bienville Boulevard ,
Dauphin Island,
Alabama 36528
"Good educational "aquarium""
This "aquarium" isn't the ordinary one since they are based on a lab researching and educational purpose. However, they are open to the public to see what they are doing and showing about the ocean and its surrounding environments and animals. We like visiting the island to enjoy a quiet beach.

U.S. Space & Rocket Center
One Tranquility Base,
Huntsville,
Alabama 35805
"No so much for pre-schoolers"
My kids are still 3 year old and 2 year old so it's not their kind of a place to visit. If you have teenage kids, I bet they will love it. However, they still have pre-school play areas both inside and outside. They have indoor exhibits as much as they have outside "amusement park" rides. The admission is expensive for both adult and kids; however, it worth to see those rockets and their histories.
