Blank Park Zoo
7401 SW 9th St.,
Des Moines,
Iowa 50315
This isn't a big zoo, but they do a great job using the space they have for nice exhibits, and well cared for animals. It can easily be enjoyed in a single morning or afternoon without wearing out parents or young children. A pretty little zoo, with lots to offer.

St. Louis Gateway Arch
100 Washington Avenue,
Saint Louis,
Missouri
You probably don't want to ride up the arch if you are clautrophobic. If you can stand tight places, riding a "pod" to the top is really a blast. The design is facinating, and the view is spectacular once you reach the top. The museum underneath is very well done, and you won't want to miss it. A great experience for all ages.

"Educational, and inspiring"
I wouldn't recommend taking your infants or toddlers to visit DC, but it's a very good experience for your older children. It's truly educational, but still enjoyable. So much can be covered in a single day, and a lot is in walking distance. Choose a Spring or Fall visit and take your time!

Hershey’s Chocolate World

"Can't go wrong with chocolate!"
This was a really fun place to visit. We did the factory tour, and learned all about making Hershey kisses. We loved the samples, and the costumed "candy". Of course the best part was the store, and stocking up on plenty of delicious chocolate! The tour was a good length to keep even young kids entertained.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park
210 Main Street,
Bryson City Chamber of Commerce,
Bryson City,
North Carolina 28713
All you really need to do is drive through the park to enjoy yourself, unless you are prone to car sickness! The overlooks are absolutely beautiful. There are many other things to enjoy here too. Hike to a waterfall, go tubing down a creek, explore a pioneer village, but most of all enjoy the great outdoors!
