Valleyfair
1 Valleyfair Drive,
Shakopee,
Minnesota
"Valleyfair is among the very BEST!!!"
I've been to a lot of amusement parks... and Valleyfair continues to be one of my favorites. It's a little difficult with small kids as there are only a handful of rides for anyone under 48". However, that said, there is a building near those rides (I can't remember what it's called offhand) that is like a big air-conditioned (that's important info, just so you know :), fight-zone. Foam balls and air-powered shooters all over the place! It was a good discovery for us. :) Oh, and you'll LOVE Valleyfair just in general... lots and lots of great rides. If you go early or late in the season, on a day early in the week... the lines will be short enough that you'll get to ride whatever you want whenever you want! Hardly any waiting!

North Pole, Santa's Workshop
5050 Pikes Peak Hwy,
Cascade,

"The North Pole is perfect for small children!"
I personally think this place is too pricey, or I would have given it 5 stars. This is our favorite place to go for rides that are good for small kids. Most amusement parks have a really tall height requirement for the rides, and this place was totally opposite that. It seemed like our very small kids could go on just about anything they wanted to, and we could even ride on those things too! It was a great family fun place!

Mall of America
60 East Broadway,
Bloomington,
Minnesota 55425
"the Mall of America is worth at least visiting once!"
I know some people go there all the time, but it's way too much mall for me to go that often. It can be pretty overwhelming. That said, there's something for everyone! The fun park is unique and loads of fun, the aquarium is a really fun one (there's a moving walkway that runs under a shark tank), and there are stores for just about anything you can think of! One of my kids' favorite places in the mall is Legoland. There's lots of really unique Lego pieces (so if you're looking for something out of the ordinary- this is the place!), and there's a really nice little Lego play area. This is where we go when we need a break from walking around the BIG mall. :)

Como Zoo
1225 Estabrook Dr,
Saint Paul,
Minnesota
"The Como Zoo is a fun FREE family activity!"
I would give this five stars, but even though it's FREE, it's a little small. It's a nice zoo, a small zoo, a FREE zoo (can't beat that!), but not quaint or cute somehow. Just small. Anyway, that said, it's worth visiting as the kids always enjoy it and it's a fun thing to do with the day. I would say... if you live in the Saint Paul area it's worth it, if you're a tourist... there's lots of other fun stuff to do besides this. :)

Science Museum of Minnesota
120 W Kellogg Blvd,
Saint Paul,
Minnesota
"The Science Museum of Minnesota is 1-of-a-kind!"
Wow... I can't really underestimate how much we love this place. I think our favorite part, nearly every visit, is the Omnitheatre. There's usually something really interesting playing and it's a one of a kind theater experience as the screen is HUGE and rounds up and over your head. (If you have motion sickness issues this could get to you). The Museum itself is pretty great too... a lot of hands on activities for the little kids! I would plan on this taking the whole day if you want to really enjoy all it has to offer. At least as far as my kids go (they're grade-school age), they're pretty tired by the time we've gone through the whole thing.
