Go York or Get Outdoors York | kids travel, kids activities
Go York or Get Outdoors York
159 East Market Street,
York,
Pennsylvania
"York County"
I used the address for the York city library, but all the libraries in York County are connected and jointly offer this program with their summer reading program. The GO or Get Outdoors program leads to a variety of parks in York County and you follow the clues to find a "rubbing". On a post at the end of the trail that the clues lead you on, is a plastic peice that you use a crayon on to acquire a rubbing on a given paper to keep track of and prove that you've been to each site. These papers can be turned in to any of the libraries for a small prize and entry into a final raffle.
My kids loved going on these walks and finding the "rubbing" like it was a prize. Plus we got to check out parks we didn't know about in the area, which often means, new playgrounds! :)
Note* It was formerly referred to as the Keystone Activity Zone or KAZ, and used stamps instead of rubbings at that time.
Note* A York County Library card is required to sign up for the summer reading program and GO York. And copies go quickly. The kickoff for the program is usually around June 1st.

Sip & Bite Diner | kids travel, kids activities
Sip & Bite Diner
2200 Boston Street,
Baltimore,
Maryland
"Diners Drive Ins and Dives"
This Diner was features on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. I suggest not going right after a city ballgame on a weekend. It was so busy and we had a bit of a wait. However I'm sure it'd be fine at less Prime times. The food was great. There's about 5 items on the kids' menu, and my kids both ordered the pancakes. There's a distinct Greek influence in the food, that I enjoyed. We will definately keep it on our list of places to visit when in Baltimore.

Four Points by Sheraton Pittsburgh North | kids travel, kids activities
Four Points by Sheraton Pittsburgh North
910 Sheraton Dr,
Mars, Pennsylvania
"expected more.."
Room was nice but small. No mini fridge or microwave. View of the inside of the hotel was nice. Staff was friendly. The had a very nice pool that apparently connected indoors (headted) and outdoors. The outdoors part wasn't open yet when we were there. There was a lifeguard present, and a hottub.
Note- this hotel is under renovation, though we did not hear or see anything work wise during the weekend we were here.

Fun Fore All

"wow!"
This activity vented has a variety of video games, lots of room, and a 3 story Ball O City! Plus outdoor stuff like batting cages, gokarts, bumperboats and a rock wall! Prices are really reasonable here, and we found a coupon online that saved us more. There were birthday parties here too, and it looked like they were having a great time too. I would definitely recommend this place to any family looking for fun. Noise level does vary.

Jim & Nena's Pizza (Memory Lane)
162 Memory Lane,
York,
Pennsylvania
"Gluten Free Pizza and more"
We ordered carryout from this location primarily because it has the gluten free pizza availible. This is one of the few locations in York that does offer it. The gluten free pizza was edible, but nothing special in the taste department. It could've had more flavor, and I did add some seasoning that helped a bit. This was the only thing we ordered, so perhaps their other menu items are better...
