The Ravine Water Park
2301 Airport Rd.,
Paso Robles,
California
We went yesterday actually and had a blast! The kid part of the park is large and has 6 slides that are very well monitored just for our little ones. My one year old liked going down as much as my three and five year old! There is so much room for all the little kiddos that you don't feel crowded. We had a lot of fun and will definitely go back. Admission is a little pricey and you can't bring your own snacks or food, so come prepared for that. Probably my favorite feature is that the pink inner tubes have netting in the bottom, so I felt I could safely let my son lounge in his tube while I was in mine. It was a blast!!!

Morro Bay State Park
State Park Road,
Morro Bay,
California 93442
We love going to Morro Rock and feeding the Sea Gulls and other wildlife. It's also fun to drive to the rock and park on the bay side to watch the Sea Otters with their babies eating and lounging in the water on their backs, or look up and try to spot a Peregrine Falcon. Across the way is the actual beach that you can build fun sand castles, watch the surf tournaments (seasonal), play in the water, see the sand crabs and other ocean life, and more. The bathrooms and trail to/from the Embarcadero has been recently renovated, so it's a lot safer and easier to walk instead of driving if you're up for an easy trek. Oh, and if you have teens, the Skate Park is right next to the playground! :)

Museum of Natural History
Morro Bay State Park Road,
Morro Bay,

"Fun, Educational, Hands On!"
I was so excited to visit the Museum of Natural History after it was remodeled a few years ago. It is very hands on and my sons love it (ages 1-5). We go during the weekdays when it's less crowded and pretty much have the place to ourselves. We love learning about the Chumash Indians, whales, geology, sea otters, and more. At the entrance to the museum, there is an excellent rock that you walk on the trails to the top of and can have a picnic lunch with your family overlooking the bay. It's so much fun!

The Elfin Forest
North End of 15th or 16th Street Off Santa Ysabel,
Los Osos,
California 93402
The Elfin Forest is located in Los Osos, CA, with entrances off the North end of 15th and 16th streets off Santa Ysabel (handicapped entrance is on 16th). Their are guided walks through the forest the 3rd Saturday of every month which begin at 9:30 am and meet at the entrance to the forest on 15th street. The boardwalk is so much fun to take the kiddos walking on, and has exceptional views of the bay. It's also wide enough for a double jogging stroller! :) We like to look for different wildlife and coastal habitats for the critters.

Montana De Oro State Park
Los Osos Valley Road (all the way at the end),
Los Osos,
California 93402
"Montana de Oro State Park"
Montana de Oro State Park is one of the largest state parks in California. It is over 8,000 acres of bluffs, ragged cliffs, beaches, canyons, streams, and hills. It features a campground across from Spooner's Cove Beach- an extremely kid friendly beach with tide pools, a stream for kids to play in, rocks and caves to explore, hiking trails nearby and much more. There are docent lead hikes, biking trails, and equestrian camps nearby. Visit the website for more information. Admittance to the Park is free, but camping costs money. If you're ready to explore the outdoors with your family, this is the place to go!
