About Me & My Family
I'm a mother
2 Kids 1-2 years old all girls
My husband and I both grew up in north Seattle (Ballard and Ravenna) and bought our first house in Everett. I am a stay home Mom so the girls and I get to go do a lot of fun activities. Most of my reviews will be within an hour or two of my house, but before kids, my husband has been to Sweden twice. And I have been to Vancouver BC multiple times, Whistler, traveled California, Oregon, Eastern Washington, and Idaho frequently, been to Maui, and we honeymooned in Florida. We have not been to these places with the kids however. Except California, we flew to Los Angeles then RV'd up to Santa Maria this summer.
I am going to try and accomplish 4-5 reviews a day until I list all of the nifty kid friendly places that I can think of!

"Lots of Boutiques and Specialty Shops for when you need something special"
I like to meet my sister here, get coffee, then sit and watch my daughter play on all the animal sculptures. The play area is small and crowded but ok for a short period of time.
The store "Kid's Club" has a lot to offer. Cute clothes for birth - school age, a kids salon, accesories, gifts and toys. Next to the kids play area.
I like to go into the "Hannah Anderson" kids clothing store and see if they have anything on sale. Otherwise, I buy this brand at the outlet store in Issaquah or second hand because it is expensive. Also next to the play area.
We always eat at "Pallino Pastaria". They have good food with quick service. I get the Fettuccini Alfredo, YUM!
"Village Playdays" are Tuesday's 10-11. Free story time, crafts and activities for kids. Attend a Playdays event and receive a Playdays Pass featuring special offers to select Village shops and restaurants.
Free Valet Parking during the Holidays (I do some of my Christmas shopping here.)

Market Street in Ballard
Market St.,
Seattle,
Washington
"Lots of shopping and eatery choices"
We usually go to Golden Gardens and visit Market Street on the same day. Some of my favorite places on Market Street are:
The Matador Restaurant and Tequila Bar is yummy! Gourmet Tex-Mex cuisine with a great atmosphere and open fire. Unfortunately you can not take the kids in because it is a bar only I guess. From the website:
Romanza mixes the practical (bed and bath items) with the frivolous and whimsical in an atmosphere of playful elegance. This is on of my FAVORITE places to shop! Especially for holiday decorations (Halloween and Christmas), specialty birthday party hats, and they have some baby stuff also. All around fabulous place to buy a gift.

Olsen's Scandinavian Foods
The Majestic Bay Theatre continues the legacy of motion picture exhibition in Ballard with a new building that recalls the grace of the past with the innovations and luxuries modern audiences expect.
"Cookies". More than 1000 cookie cutters and anything and everything else you would need to bake cookies!
The Hi-Life.
BALLARD’S AMERICAN GRILL
The Other Coast Cafe.
A true East coast deli in Seattle? You bet!
Ballard Avenue intersects with Market Street. Make sure you check it out also!
There is much more to do in Ballard besides Market Street and Ballard Ave. I will think of more later and update. My hubby wants me off the computer now :)

Seattle Children's Theater
201 Thomas Street ,
Seattle,
Washington 98109
I see a blue sheep, a red sheep, a swing sheep and slide sheep. An up and down and all around sheep. All kinds of sheep having all kinds of fun. But where is the green sheep?
You and your toddlers will be delighted and captivated as you sit in the sheep pen and join in the search for the elusive green sheep. There will be music, puppets, and loads of laughter while we explore the early learning concepts of size, color, and distance.
We really enjoyed this performance! It kept my daughter's attention, who doesn't sit still for anything else. Unfortunately, there are rarely shows for toddlers here. Most shows are for elementary age and up. This is the only reason I gave it a lower rating.

Olympic Sculpture Park
2901 Western Avenue,
Seattle,
Washington
"Fantastic views especially at sun set"
Besides the view beyond the park I Liked the tree exhibit the best.
This "Vivarium" houses a 60-foot chunk of fallen tree removed from a Washington forest. In a natural setting, the log would simply decay and provide a home for plants, insects and birds. Now, in its custom greenhouse, it requires a climate-control system to keep it properly growing. You can observe its living surface using the microscopes and magnifying glasses provided inside. It's about birth and death and renewal."

Gingerbread Village
Sheraton Hotel,
1400 6th Avenue,
Seattle,
Washington 98101
I am sorry but this did not impress me. Driving downtown, trying to park and then going into a hotel to look at a couple gingerbread houses :(
I will stick with the Teddy Bear Suite.
However, if you do visit I think the proceeds go to charity.
