We have always loved to travel and having our daughter has not stopped us. In her first year of life our daughter has been to Seattle, San Antonio & Las Vegas. But our choices in destinations and the amount of stuff we pack has definitely changed!
Our Family's Travel Personality
curious, spontaneous, easy_going
We Just Got Back From
snowmobiling at a cabin in the woods
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
the Oregon coast or Mexico
A Place We'd Love To Visit
New Zealand
Favorite Vacation Memory
Honeymoon in Italy - all of it!
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
We were in a fancy restaurant in vegas and my daughter would not stop screaming; so I took her to toddle around the slot machine area and she tripped (she was 11 mos and still learning to walk) and got a bloody nose...the only way I could calm her was to let her play a round of slots herself (she liked pushing buttons and the blinking lights and music). I am sure I looked like a model mother!

Lithia Park Playground
59 Winburn Way,
Ashland,
Oregon 97520
"Playground, ducks, wading creek"
Lithia Park is great for families. There is a pretty standard playground there but my favorite is the creek that runs through the park and the wading area for kids to play in. My daughter also loves to visit the duck pond. Lithia Park is right by downtwon Ashland so it's just a short walk from lunch, ice cream, toy stores and book stores as well.

Bridger Bowl
15795 Bridger Canyon Road ,
Bozeman,
Montana
Enjoying a day skiing is hard when you have little ones. Bridger offered "playcare" for kids 18 months+. I believe it was $45 for a 1/2 day or $60 all day. Ski tickets are $45/adult. We were able to drop our toddler off (just pack a lunch and snow clothes as they have a gated area for them to play outside) and then go enjoy a perfect powder day of skiing! After we skiied hard all morning we picked up our toddler and took a couple of rides up the beginner chair with her in my front pack and watched her 3 year old cousin learn to ski (lift free for kids, kids ski rentals $5).

Sea World
10500 SeaWorld Drive,
San Antonio,
Texas 78251
My daughter was only 8 months old at the time and we went with another couple with a 1 year old so our kids were a bit young to fully enjoy the experience. That said, the adults had a blast. The kids enjoyed watching the dolphins and the Shamu show and we enjoyed the Budweiser house (2 free beers/person) and the amusement rides (each couple took turns watching the babies). Then we all hit the water park at the end of the day. That said, there was no quality restaurant inside the place so expect amusement park food. Also, bring lots of sunblock and a stroller with a good sunshade is a must.
