Akaka Falls State Park
Akaka Falls Road ,
Hamakua,
Hawaii
"Akaka Falls and Kahuna Falls"
Akaka Falls is a great stop for the whole family. The walk to the falls is full of lush vegetation!! Along the walk you will be able to view and smell Hawaii's tropical flowers. It is a self-guided, .4 mile loop. The loop takes hikers to Kahuna Falls (100 feet) and Akaka Falls (442 feet). Akaka Falls is a 20 minute drive north of Hilo.

Coffee Shack, 100% Kona Coffee
83-5799 Mamalahoa Highway,
Honaunau,
Hawaii 96726
This restaurant is not far from Kona. It is worth the trip! The Coffee Shack is on the same route as the City of Refuge (Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Park). The Coffee Shack is open for breakfast and lunch. We enjoyed the food, view, Kona coffee aroma, and service so much we ate at the Coffee Shack twice in one week. High chairs were available. The bathrooms were small, but very clean. Also, parking is limited. The restaurant is divided into two sections. The back area has more room for larger families and groups. Both areas face the coast. Your family will also have a chance to spot geckos, while drinking Kona coffee. Don’t forget to try some of the homemade pastries and bread!!

Mount Rainier National Park
Mt. Rainier,
Longmire,
Washington 98304
Grove of the Patriarchs is a great hike for children. We enjoyed crossing a suspension bridge over a river/stream. We walked the boardwalk around the ancient trees covered in moss. There are plenty of places to stop and rest along the hike.
We went on a hike up Rainier at Paradise point.
There are so many hikes to pick from. There are rigorous trails and gentle trails. The views of Rainier's glaciers are amazing. The wildflowers cover the base of the mountain. Sometimes a bear can be seen in the distance. The visitor center showed a great video. It was not too long for our toddler. We took a baby/toddler backpack, hiking sticks, and insect repellent. We used all three. We had a wonderful time visiting Rainier. We cannot wait to go back.

Children's Museum
808 West Main Avenue,
Spokane,
Washington 808 West M
"Mobius Children's Museum and Riverpark Square"
This is a great place to take your children ages 1-8. The museum has space to park your gear and stroller. Children are able to play instruments, make art projects, explore a miniature city, and much more. The museum is small, but has plenty of activties that keep kids engaged. We packed our lunch for the day and ate at a table in the museum. The museum is located below the Riverpark Square. Riverpark Square has a food court, larger restaurants, movie theater, and many shops. Also, Riverpark Square is located across the street from Riverfront Park.

Hiawatha Trail
PO Box 108 ,
Wallace,
Idaho 83873
The Hiawatha Trail was part of the Milwaukee Railroad. Pack your bikes, helmets, head lamps, bike lights, and a warm layers because there are 11 tunnels! The longest tunnel is 1.6 miles long. It is amazing!! The trail is 15 miles long at 1.7% downhill grade. There is a shuttle that will take bikes and riders from the end of the trail to the first tunnel, which leads you back to your car. The Hiawatha Trail is one of our favorite trails. The price range below includes the shuttle. The cost is cut in half if you are willing to bike the full 30 miles.
