Realizing that I didn't have enough diapers and no clue where the nearest store was! I always make sure to have plenty of diapers and know where at least one store is, just in case!

Red Robin
1035 Dana Dr,
Redding,
California
"Wonderful place for families!"
This restaurant is a wonderful place for all ages. The menu is diverse with chicken and burgers, ribs and more. They offer bottomless steak fries which are so yummy! The decor is fun and colorful and the atmosphere is friendly. The staff is always in a good mood and regularly will joke around with you, which makes for an enjoyable meal. They will do birthday songs if you ask ahead of time and the prices are very reasonable. My son enjoys this restaurant and I will continue to go to this restaurant for years to come.

Sacramento River Trail
1657 Riverside Drive,
Redding,
California 96003
"Exercise for mom and baby"
I love taking walks with my son and the River Trail is a great place to do just that. The river is a calm and beautiful background while walking the trail under a canopy of trees. Depending on the time of day you may have company on the trail in the form of joggers, bike riders or other mom and children combos. Its a great way to get some exercise and fresh air.

Turtle Bay Exploration Park
840 Auditorium Drive,
Redding,
California 96003
"Amazing place to spend the day"
Turtle Bay sits right along the Sacramento River in Redding. The Sundial Bridge is its beautiful next door neighbor. The exploration park regularly has exhibits in addition to its regular museum. Examples are a Lego exhibit, Grossology, or the current exhibit of Costumes from popular television and film- the bat suit is on display! There is so much to do that its easy to lose an entire day in this place. Admission is a little pricey (can buy year long memberships) but its so worth it!

Sundial Bridge
Turtle Bay,
Redding,
California
"Beautiful place for a stroll"
The Sundial Bridge is a Redding landmark. The bridge itself is an architectural masterpiece that actually does what its name says, it can tell time! The bridge leads to a walking trail that takes you up to the bluffs along Hilltop Dr and offer an amazing view of Redding. Also on the other side of the bridge is a flower garden and a trail leading under the bridge right to the water's edge. A great place to visit in Spring or Autumn weather and enjoy an afternoon stroll.

Waterworks Park
151 North Boulder Drive,
Redding,
California 96003
"Great way to beat the heat"
Waterworks Park has been a Redding hot spot for years. With the crazy high temperatures that Redding is known to have, a water park is the perfect escape. There is something for everyone with slides, a rapid to brave, a lazy lagoon and a kids area as well as a cyclone and avalanche 'ride.' The kids area is nice with a shallow pool, a mushroom that sprays water (think a fountain), a mole hole that leads to the pool and a mini slide is fun for the little ones.
