Beecher's Handmade Cheese
1600 Pike Place,
Seattle,
Washington 98101
"Fun to watch cheese-making in action..!"
The Beecher's store is really fun to see -- at least once, that is. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because although it's great when you're there, it's not a place families are going to return to again and again. The cheese factory is behind enclosed glass, and fun to watch the process. Plenty of cheeses and crackers to sample, and a lot of gift-wrapped fancy packages to purchase. Overall, if you're a Beecher's fan, you ought to at least visit once.

The Scarlet Tree Restaurant
NE 65th St. and 8th Ave. NE,
Seattle,
Washington
"Mostly the memories are special.."
The Scarlet Tree used to be a locals spot in Ravenna before it burned down a few years ago. Now, rebuilt and resting right on the corner of a main, busy street intersection, the S. T. isn't all it may be cracked up to be. The waits can be really long. The scones are amazing, yes, so maybe they should have a "scones to go" menu or something. Other than that, it's standard breakfast/brunch fare but really not food to write home about. The new owners are really trying to make a good impression -- but when your food doesn't arrive until you're putting your coat back on, that seems pretty bad to me.

Deer Park Campground At Olympic National Park
Deer Park Campground,
Olympic National Park,
Port Angeles,
Washington 98362
This is definitely a nice park to visit, and you really can see deer! Check it out. There are small fire pits at your tenting location, if I remember correctly. Check it out! Port Angeles is kind of a fun little town if you're looking for little-town-excitement. :-)

Tot Spot Cafe'
17802 134th Ave NE, Suite 6,
Woodinville,
Washington 98072
"Crowded, expensive, and far away from Seattle"
We were not impressed with our trek from NE Seattle to Tot Spot. We'd heard so much about it, how it was great to have kids play in the middle of the room while adults sat around and sipped coffee. However, we found the food and drinks to be WAY overpriced, the play area WAY too crowded, and in general, it was a strange design for a socializing venue. Won't go back again.

Blue C Sushi
University Village,
Seattle,
Washington
"Yum! Ready-to-eat sushi!"
We recently took our 18 month old twins to Blue C Sushi in U-Village. We typically have to scarf down our food, help the kids eat and manage themselves, hurry before they lose their attention spans/want to get down, etc. Instead, at Blue C Sushi, we were able to get a side table/booth with lots of room, snagged food from the assembly line delivery system, and had a long, fun, and happy dinner. Take your kids -- they'll love it. There are also non-sushi food items to choose from (noodles, egg, soybeans, mini donuts, etc). Bon Appetit!
