Cleveland Museum of Natural History
1 Wade Oval Drive,
Cleveland,
Ohio
We went with two 2 year olds and a 3 month old, and expected our girls to love the dinosaur bones. In fact, they loved the dress up and puppet area and the large children's play room in the basement. In addition, in nice weather there is a zoo-like area that has a ton of different animals, including a bald eagle, right outside of the museum. That was a definite favorite for our family. We just missed the show at the planetarium, but that would have been great too.

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
3900 Wildlife Way,
Cleveland,
Ohio 44109
A fun zoo, a little on the expensive side. Our favorite part is the rain forest area, and this past year, there were dinosaurs set up throughout the zoo, which was fun for our children. Not the largest zoo, but there is plenty of walking, and some of it hilly, so be prepared. The train is a nice break from the walking and fun activity for the kids.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
1100 Rock and Roll Blvd.,
Cleveland,
Ohio 44114
A lot of great information and history to be learned, and some really neat things to see - costumes, hand-written music, guitars. But nothing someone younger than about 9-10 would appreciate. It is a cool looking museum and right on the water - if you're with younger kids, the science center next door is a better bet.

The Q Hotel & Spa
560 Westport Rd,
Kansas City, Missouri
"Not really for families"
Walking distance to some attractions during the day, but rooms were small and not kid-friendly, and there were no fridges and no pool in the hotel, nor any type of accessible meal service (restaurant that looked like kids would be allowed at). More a hip, trendy spot for those young adults with no kids - kind of a loud hotel, too, since the partying crowd stays there.

Powder Valley Nature Center
11715 Cragwold Road,
Saint Louis,
Missouri 63122
This is a great nature center - fun activities and puppets for kids, a large aquarium, and also has several trails to walk/hike, of differing lengths. They host special events throughout the year, and our daughters enjoyed the Bug Night, including bug-themed live music, black lights outside to highlight the bugs, and edible bugs for their enjoyment.
