Days Inn Neptune Beach
1401 Atlantic Blvd,
Neptune Beach, Florida
This was a beach typical hotel. Matteress good, breakfast good (although the biscuits were very hard on the bottom and breakfast room was tiny!!) The pool was closed due to "painting and rain a few days early" not really sure. If you have little kids or tons of bags get a ground floor room as there is NO ELEVATOR! The room was ok, newer carpet and was clean. The bathroom did not look anything like the photos, but again was clean. Hot water went out once on us, but we did have two kids take baths in a row.
In general the staff was pleasant, the place clean, but it wasn't really kid friendly to me (no elevator and ice/vending machines were on the ground level.) While our stay wasn't horrible, I will probably stay somewhere else next time.

Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse
14 St. George Street,
Saint Augustine,

"unique piece of history"
This was a cute little place, the animatronics (did I spell that right) were a little dated and scared my daughter (age 3) but both of my kids loved the garden area and all the items in it (the giant pot, outhouse, garden chairs and table.) and smelling the flowers, chasing a couple squirrels too.

Castillo de San Marcos National Monument
1 South Castillo Drive,
Saint Augustine,

"great place, loved all the history.."
but safety was an issue for us with our bouncy 3 year old. We had to keep a tight hold on her. Otherwise, very interesting and we were able to see a cannon firing which our 8 year old was thrilled about!! Staff were very friendly! They told us to keep our eyes open to try to spot dolphins in the water..we didn't see any but another couple said they did.

The Museum of Science & History
1025 Museum Circle,
Jacksonville,
Florida 32207
My kids and I really enjoyed this place. It was a bit costly, 26$ for three of us, but worth it. We went on a Monday morning and other than a couple school classes, the place was quiet. Loved the toddler/preschool area with giant tree and water table (although my son, age 8) loved the water table too. It was very interesting and kept us moving. Only bad part their dinosaur exhibit was under redesign. Loved the "A-mazing" maze part, altantic tails was good and the Currents of Time section was fun and informational. Both my kids loved the body parts at the beginning. Will go again if we visit JAX.

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens
370 Zoo Parkway,
Jacksonville,
Florida 32218
It was a fun place and they have added a couple new things since we were last there. They have a beautiful Asian Garden now that has a huge koi pond and friendly fish. And the komodo dragons were nice to see. The second exhibit was the Penguin one, and the line was too long for us (aka our 3 year) to wait in so we did not see that... Otherwise, a typical zoo.
