Salem Riverfront Carousel
101 Front Street NE ,
Salem,
Oregon 97301
We heard about this from the grandparents and it was worth the trip! The rides are so cheap and decently long. There are a few stationary animals/benches for kids who are scared of the moving ones. There is also a brass ring game although it wasn't working when we were there.
Before or after you ride, check out the huge play structure near by and the large grassy area for running and playing!

"A great intro to the monuments"
We actually left our kids with the family and did the evening monument tour. With our limited time it was a great introduction to DC. I did notice that they had bikes with trailers you could rent and this would have been a great option for us if we'd had more days to visit the monuments with the boys.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and had all the equipment you would need!

Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and Boating
Rehoboth Beach,
Rehoboth Beach,
Delaware 19971
"Typical touristy boardwalk"
You can definitely walk for free, but there is an arcade and lots of shops that will get your kids attention. The beach is right there and there are water spigots to rinse sand off, but for real beach access go north to the State Park (entrance fee $8). Very uncrowded, but you can still rent a beach umbrella. Only portapotties in the parking lot though.

"A Great Way to spend a day"
My boys are 4 and 1 and we only had a couple hours, but we didn't want to leave. We only found the Tot room at the end and my one year old was entranced. I'm sad that we didn't get more time there.
There are so many things to do and not once did I have to say "don't touch". It's well worth the entry fee, plus your bracelet has a number that matches your child's so if you have older kids you can let them roam free and not worry that they will leave with someone else.

Woodland Park Zoo
N. 50th St. at Freemont,
Seattle,
Washington
"Lots of cool animals of course!"
We just went to the zoo this morning... my son's first time and for 2 1/2 he was occupied the whole time we were there. If you have small children be warned, the zoo is quite large and there are lots of swerving paths between exhibits. You will do a LOT of walking. Bring a map too because it's easy to get turned around. And finally... always be prepared for Seattle weather! It poured about half the time we were there and most of the exhibits are outdoors!
