Seven Sacred Pools
Highway 31,
Hana,
Hawaii
The drive to get here was not fun, but the pools were. There is hardly any hike to reach the pools as they can be seen from the road, which makes for a very family friendly adventure. And if you and your kids love swimming, then this a great spot to be. There are even small rocks and ledges that can be jumped from into the pools. This place is also very pretty and scenic, which makes for some great photos. There is also plenty of places to picnic, so pack a lunch, because there isn't much to buy around there. We found this out the hard way. This place is fun, I would definitely stop.

Nakalele Blowhole
Hwy 30 just past mile marker 38,
Kapalua,
Hawaii
I would recommend checking out the blowhole. It is located in the northern part of the island and requires a short down hike to get to it, but is accessible to just about anyone. As you travel up the road look for a small dirt parking off the west side of the road. There is also a small wooden sign that marks the spot. Hike down the cliff area to the blowhole. There are huge crashing waves coming into the rock which are fascinating to watch. The water then shoots out of the blowhole and is also very cool to see. This is a fun little stop to make if you are up in the northern part of the island. Check it out.

Black Rock Beach
2605 Kaanapali Parkway ,
Lahaina,
Hawaii 96761
"Good, but not great snorkeling"
Black rock is an OK snorkeling spot. The water was pretty clear and there definitely were fish all around, but it was a fairly small area to look at. We heard from several people to go check it out, but it was not our favorite. We spent all of about fifteen minutes here and then took off. The snorkeling spots just a little further north in the two bays were far better. We went to quite a few spots to snorkel and I would recommend just skipping this one and sticking with some of the others.

Kaanapali Beach
2525 Ka'anapali Parkway,
Lahaina,
Hawaii
This beach is pretty cool. I'd say it is one of the better beaches that we visited. However, it is definitely not the most secluded as it sits right amongst the resort hotels. There is some good beginner boogy boarding and surfing here and some fair snorkeling down at the north end of the beach. The swimming is also pretty good. But if you're looking for seclusion this probably isn't the beach for you.

The Road to Hana
Hana Highway,
Hana,
Hawaii
The road to Hana was very pretty, and very scenic. Plenty of great photo ops. There were also several small waterfall hikes along the way. Once in Hana there was not much to do, just a few houses and a cafe or two. The road was very windy and long, which I don't think would be super fun for the kids. So all in all the road was not very fun. It was beyond Hana that I found to be fun. The place they call he seven sacred pools was very fun to swim in and to hike. We also hike to the tallest waterfall in Maui, which in that same area. It was a great hike that I would probably do again. If you can get on the few small back roads near Hana you will find some awesome deserted beaches as well. I would love to go back to the falls and beaches, but I'm not quite sure the travel is worth it.
