Rainforest Cafe
4000 Baldwin Road ,
Auburn Hills,
Michigan 48326
"Kids love to eat here!!"
The Rainforest Cafe is a really neat place to eat with kids. Kids of all ages enjoy this place. When you enter the seating area it's as if you are eating in the rain forest. You'll be in the middle of dinner and all of a sudden a thunder storm will start. You see the lights flash and sounds of thunder. The large salt water fish tanks are really neat too. You walk right under one when you enter the restaurant. They have a very cute bar area. The bar stools are hilarious...they are made to look like the rear ends of animals. The gift shop is great. Lots of gifts and clothing. Outside the restaurant is a large motorized alligator. During certain times it comes to life and moves around and makes noises. Although my son was a bit scared of it. The food is great here. You must get the volcano dessert!!

Warren Dunes State Park
12032 Red Arrow Highway,
Sawyer,
Michigan
"Very large beach area and one of a kind huge sand dune to climb!!"
I've been going to this state park since I can remember. My parents and grandparents would take us kids here almost every summer. A great place to camp! The best park about this park is their very large and clean beach. One of the largest beaches in the area. Nothing can beat the HUGE sand dune on your right as you enter the beach area. I just love taking people here for the first time. Every time we turn the corner to enter the parking lot you hear them say "Woooo...Oh my gosh...look how huge that sand hill is!" No one has ever seen a sand hill quite so large. It takes at least 10-15 mins to climb up. Once you are at the top the view is breath taking. This park is a MUST see place!!

Indianapolis Zoo
1200 W. Washington St,
Indianapolis,
Indiana 46222
Their dolphin show is wonderful! It was also a great break from the hot sun the day we went. The side of the walls of the tank are clear...the kids loved to watch the dolphins swim. This zoo is great because it's not huge...you won't get worn out from a lot of walking like most large zoo's. I hear they've added a water spray playground for the kids. We'll be hitting up this zoo again this year for sure!

Allerton Park and Retreat Center
515 Old Timber Road ,
Monticello,
Illinois 61856
This has got to be one of the coolest parks I've ever been to. It's HUGE! There is an old mansion on the property where the owner once lived, they now host events and such there. Very beautiful place. There are a lot of gardens to see and they are all just beautiful. The flowers are my favorite part. Oh you've got to see the Peonies section. Hundreds of peony bushes!! All different types. I've never seen soo many! A lot of this park reminds me of the movie "The Labyrinth" with David Bowe. Where the girl is walking through the maze made out of the tall bushes. The sunken garden area is beautiful. A lot of weddings are held there. The trails through the woods are great. There are short and long trails. All throughout the park are sculptures. One of the most popular is the Sunsinger sculpture. It's a sculpture unlike no other! This park is a very popular for taking outdoor portraits. With soo many beautiful back drops. I could just go on and on about this park. It's just a truly awesome park and very unique. You MUST go see it!!

Apple and Pork Festival
219 E. Woodlawn ,
Clinton,
Illinois 61727
"Lots of neat items and Great food!"
I went to this festival last year with a friend of mine. She tries to go every year. They have a large flea market set up on the grounds. Lots off home made unique items. There is something for everyone there. I would have to say the best part about the festival is the food. I had the best pork sandwich I've ever tasted!
