Downtown Children's Playground
Speer Blvd & Wewatta ,
Denver,
Colorado 80202
"A fun place to play downtown"
This playground is small but has some great, innovative playground equipment. My kids really enjoyed the climbing structure that looks like a spiderweb of ropes, but there are also slides and monkey bars. The only drawback is the lack of bathrooms. Still it is definitely the best playground in LoDo.

Sixteenth Street Mall

"A great outdoor shopping area"
The 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver is a fun place for both kids and adults. We love browsing in the stores and then choosing one of the many restaurants for a nice dinner. My kids favorite part of the 16th street mall is riding the free RTD shuttle bus that frequently runs from Union Station to Colfax Avenue.

Denver Firefighters Museum
1326 Tremont Place,
Denver,
Colorado 80204
The best part of the Denver Firefighters Museum is dressing up like a firefighter and climbing aboard a fire truck. However, there is also lots of historical fire fighting equipment and hands-on displays about fire safety. A great place to take kids.

Cherry Creek Shopping Center
3000 East First Avenue ,
Denver,
Colorado 80206
Cherry Creek is a great, free place to go when the kids need to get some energy out but it is either too hot or too cold to go outside. It does get pretty crazy sometimes with so many kids that it is hard to enjoy playing. It's best to go early in morning to avoid crowds.

United States Mint
320 West Colfax Avenue,
Denver,
Colorado
Denver Mint is a fun, educational place to visit. The tour takes a half hour and usually you get to see the machines making and counting coins. My only complaints is that you have to make reservations several weeks in advance or stand in line at 7:30 am to get on a tour. Also security is stricter than the airport.
