Rein's New York Style Deli
435 Hartford Turnpike,
Vernon Rockville,
Connecticut 06066
The location of Rein's can't be beat. Right off 84 in CT. This is a fun spot to visit for breakfast or lunch. Everyone gets a bowl of pickles as you are seated. My son thought that was the coolest thing. The sandwiches are HUGE and delicious. Rein's also does a lot for the local community and food banks in town. The statue of liberty is fun and we like how the different sections of the restaurant are named for different areas in NYC.

Kid City Childrens Museum
119 Washington St ,
Middletown,
Connecticut 06457
I find KidCity to be one of the best places for kids in CT. The place is very clean and bright. There are multiple areas for kids to play and learn in. They even have rooms so you could have a bday party here. The location is great too - close to lots of restaurants for grabbing a bite to eat after playing here all morning. They have a special basement floor exhibity for the really young kids..under the sea is the theme and it's so peaceful. I wish my son was still young enough for it!

Please Touch Museum
4231 N. Concourse Drive,
Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania 19131
I tell everyone to go here if they are in the Philly area. We had a wonderful family day here last summer. The kids can touch everything. My 2.5 yr old son at the time LOVED playing in the grocery store area as well as getting wet in the water area. The museum is very big and can get crowded but there is so much to do.

Audubon Society of Connecticut at Glastonbury
1361 Main Street,
Glastonbury,
Connecticut 06033
My son took a class here last fall. We spent the first part looking around the society. Birds, etc..then the instructor read a story and we did a craft. I thought the best part was when we went outside and we were able to have a guided tour of the grounds. It was a gorgeous day and we were able to do a nice kid friendly walk looking at beautiful trees, plants and some birds.

Dinosaur State Park
400 West Street,
Rocky Hill,
Connecticut 06067
Pick a nice weather day to fully experience this gem in CT. The trails are easy and lots of fun. My son who was 2.5 the first time we went loved exploring nature as we roamed the self guided trails. The inside of the museum is also great. They have activities like dino puzzles and coloring books in one of the classrooms that is fun if there is not a school tour taking up the room. The movie was fun to watch. They have lots of good dino books and toys in the gift shop area.
