Heilmann Park
9400 El Bordo,
Atascadero,

"Love the water feature"
Heillman Park includes a golf course, a Frisbee golf course, a dog park, two play structures, picnic bench seating and a water feature. Kids LOVE the water shooting from the ground. Make sure to bring swimsuits and towels because it can be guaranteed that they'll be getting wet!

Sherwood Park
Scott Street and Creston Road,
Paso Robles,
California 93446
"Nice park, bad location"
This park is fairly new, so it's clean and well maintained. The play structures are suited from 3 years and up. There are a few too many places where little ones could fall. The huge downside to this park is that it's not in the best neighborhood. Unfortunately, you get a lot of people loitering around.

Barney Schwartz Park
2970 Union Road,
Paso Robles,
California 93446
"Wonderful!"
This is the best park in the Paso Robles area. There are two separate play structures and they don't have a lot of places where kids can fall off. The ground is the rubber matting and sand. Only a few swings though. There is covered seating nearby for Mom and it's always clean. Great for birthday parties.

Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab | kids travel, kids activities
Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab
114 W. Branch Street,
Arroyo Grande,
California 93420
"Yum, yum, yum"
I think Doc Burnstein's has the best ice cream on the Central Coast. They carry unique flavors like Egg Nog around the holidays, but always have the basic staples like Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry for the kids. Very clean and the staff is kid friendly.

Pismo Pier | kids travel, kids activities
Pismo Pier
Pismo Beach Pier,
Pismo Beach,
California 93449
"Touristy, but fun"
Personally, I try and avoid the pier during the summer months when tourists are everywhere! There are some cute shops near the pier and you can fish off the pier without a license. Might be better for the 8 years old and up crowd though. Not much for the younger kids.
