About Me & My Family

I am a SAHM (actively seeking work), married for almost 15 years to my DH - he has a CDL and is a certified Level-3 HEO. We have four children; two girls, ages 13 and 8; and two boys, ages 11 and 11 months. We also have two dogs, seven cats, and a hamster.
Our Family's Travel Personality
curious, disorganized, relaxed, simple, independent, spontaneous, easy_going
We Just Got Back From
Daytona Beach, FL
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
anywhere in FL
A Place We'd Love To Visit
South Beach/Miami; New Zealand; Italy
Favorite Vacation Memory
The first time my baby played in the ocean was in Daytona Beach, FL this past spring. He LOVED it and I got TONS of great photos to remember it!
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
When we moved here from Chicago, my husband was already down here so it was left to me to drive the 800 miles with three kids, a large dog, and five cats (four mine, one my MIL's). I discovered that German Shepherds absolutely will NOT do their business if they are not on their own turf; my girls fought so bad I missed not one but TWO turnoffs, landing us in NW Georgia; and to top it off, while trying to get out of Georgia we found ANOTHER large dog at a rest stop on the interstate! Now I had a minivan at the time but come on...... talk about overcrowding! LOL

"Awesome show!"
We attended this show every year when we lived in the Chicagoland area - it is easily one of the BEST air and water shows I have ever seen. People of all ages will be enthralled by the sheer skill demonstrated by the pilots and other performers. It is really a must-see!

"Expensive but lots of fun!"
We used this place as a reward for our kids, for doing well last school year. It is not a place we will go on a regular basis, because our meal alone was almost $100 - the game cards cost us more than that, almost $150 - but it is a nice treat for when the kids do something exceptionally well. There are a wide variety of games from which to choose, something for everyone. The restaurant has a good selection of food, and the waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food was served hot and appeared fresh. There is an indoor bowling alley; we did not play but it looked like a lot of fun as well - it will be on our short list of things to do the next time we go!

The LEGO Store
Woodfield Mall,
Schaumburg,
Illinois 60173
"Awesome store!"
This store is unbelievable! There is a huge selection of prepackaged Legos from which to choose - or if you go to the back of the store, you can fill a bucket (various sizes available) with bulk Legos. There are displays of custom Lego creations, and when we went they had a contest to guess how many Legos made up one custom creation. The bulk buckets, if you bring yours back on a subsequent visit, are good for 50 cents off your refill. We spent two hours in this store and not one of my three kids ONCE whined about wanting to leave! This store alone makes the trip to Woodfield well worth it!

"Tons of fun!!"
Even non-hockey fans will have a blast at a Chicago Wolves game! There is a wide variety of foods from which to choose, as well as several souvenir stands. Between periods, the mascot Skates takes the ice for a short performance, complete with souvenir t-shirts he tosses or shoots into the stands. They have other events, such as pee-wee hockey mini-games between periods, and Adopt-A-Dog days. It's a lot of fun, for less than the price of a NHL game!
