I wish we could have stayed here longer. We went to the bridge in the middle of August and it was *hot*. We had a great time anyway but the kids were a bit wilted after an hour. The bridge is a really amazing piece of architecture. If you are in Redding, this is something you should go see.

My kids could probably spend all day at the water play area at this park. What a great idea. Honestly, we have spent so little time in the rest of the park that I am not sure my kids really know there is anything else to do here. If you are looking for something to do on a warm day, this is a great place to go.

I love all the old CA missions. The SLO Mission is right in the middle of downtown SLO. There is a nice museum at the mission that older kids will enjoy. They have a beautiful garden in the courtyard that kids will enjoy playing in. The sanctuary is beautiful. This is still a real church so be aware of service hours and weekend weddings if you want to see the church sanctuary.

We love to go to the airport to watch the airplanes. The Spirit of San Luis restaurant is overlooking the tarmac and they have a great picnic area outside that is right along the fence around the airstrip. Bring a picnic or order food from the restaurant and enjoy watching the planes take off and land.

Laguna Lake park is one of the biggest open spaces in SLO and is fun for kids or for dogs. The playground is nothing special but fun. There are ducks & geese to feed. The best part are all the trails you can hike on. Most of them are easy to moderate difficulty so even the littlest hikers should have no problem. In spring there are lots of wildflowers along the trails. For dog-owners, there is a nice dog park to take your dog to play.
